Common mistakes when planning a Chengdu visit
Confusing the Chengdu Panda Base with Dujiangyan Panda Valley
These are two separate facilities run by the same organization. A ticket for one does not admit you to the other, and they sit roughly 40 km apart.
Assuming pandas will be highly active on demand
Pandas are animals on their own schedule, not performers. Morning visits are commonly associated with feeding time, but activity is never guaranteed on any given visit.
Booking both Dujiangyan-Qingcheng and Leshan on the same short stay without checking the math
Each is its own day trip with real travel time. Fitting both usually needs at least 2 extra days beyond the city core, not a single extra afternoon.
Assuming all Sichuan food is extremely spicy
