They are separate, distant scenic areas with their own admission. Plan them as separate trips within your Zhangjiajie stay, not as add-ons to a Wulingyuan ticket.
Underestimating walking distance and stairs
Even a focused Yuanjiajie visit involves sustained walking and steps between viewing platforms. Comfortable shoes and a realistic pace matter more here than in a typical city-sightseeing day.
Not allowing for elevator or shuttle queues at peak times
The Bailong Elevator and shuttle-bus routes can have long waits during Chinese public holidays and peak season. Build in buffer time rather than working to a tight schedule.
