Xinjiang: choose the right gateway

North-up geographic locator showing Silk Road near Urumqi, Jiangjunshan near Altay, Keketuohai east of Fuyun, and Jikepulin east of Hemu, with URC AAT FYN and conditional KJI airport options.

North is up. The four ski destinations are not one compact cluster. 12 Silk Road lies south of Ürümqi and URC Ürümqi Tianshan Airport, well south of the other three ski areas.

In the north, 10 Jiangjunshan is at Altay, near AAT Altay Airport. 11 Keketuohai lies east and north of FYN Fuyun Airport. 13 Jikepulin lies east of Hemu village, much farther north. KJI Kanas Airport is a conditional option only if flights and winter onward access work.

Plan the long Hemu mountain journey separately rather than inferring an easy resort-hopping circuit. Small dots and short marker leaders resolve crowded locations; they are not road links.

Approximate feature-area locations are not precise ski entrances or terminal pickup points. No road routes, driving times, current openings or guaranteed connections are encoded. Not for navigation.

Xinjiang

Four to six days for a single-base outline; longer for combinations. Silk Road is near Ürümqi; Altay, Fuyun and Hemu need separate travel planning.

Starting point: Ürümqi, Altay or Fuyun; exact route confirmed.

Ürümqi and the Altay mountains are different trips

Silk Road suits an Ürümqi city-and-ski stay. Jiangjunshan offers a city base in Altay; Keketuohai calls for a dedicated Fuyun mountain stay; Jikepulin needs Hemu nights and substantial daylight transfers. Selecting two does not establish a short or feasible connection.

Winter travel days are part of the holiday

Request the actual arrival airport or station, open road routing, hotel access and gear transport. Mountain closures may require contingency nights. Agree how changed routes, extra accommodation, cancellation and rebooking costs would be handled before payment.

Keep the ski brief specific

State ability, skiing or snowboarding, desired teaching language and the number of full ski days. For remote bases, confirm equipment sizes and learning terrain before committing. Use Beijing time explicitly for pickup and lessons. Access conditions and visitor requirements must be checked for the selected route.

Jiangjunshan Ski Resort, Altay

将军山滑雪场

Jiangjunshan suits a short Altay ski break: stay in the city, ski during the day and return to restaurants in town. It is a useful first stop before considering a more remote mountain resort.

Keketuohai International Ski Resort

可可托海国际滑雪度假区

Keketuohai, also written Koktokay, rewards a longer skiing-focused stay. Choose the correct town base and allow time for the final mountain approach; reaching Fuyun County is only part of the journey.

For Chongli, compare the wider Zhangjiakou destination, Beijing–Chongli transport and Olympic-area resorts. Exact stations and hotel locations matter more than a regional label.

Once you have a shortlist, use the ski holidays and private-transfer chooser to request transport or a tailored stay. Resort guides explain the destination; your written quote confirms the actual services and dates.
