Planning for 2026–27 · Research checked . Operating details remain subject to confirmation; dated historical evidence is identified below.

Learning areas and advanced skiing

Xinjiang tourism documents beginner, intermediate and advanced runs, plus adult and children's teaching areas. This makes mixed-ability planning possible, provided each person chooses appropriate open terrain. The sports authority also documents steep advanced skiing and competition use; it is not solely an introductory hill. Tourism listing · Sports authority

Choose dates around confirmed operations

An exact 2026–27 opening or closing date has not been verified. The previous opening was reported as 15 November 2025; do not reuse it as this year's booking date. Tianshan airport and Ürümqi station

Use Ürümqi Tianshan International Airport (URC), formerly Diwopu. The north terminal began operating in April 2025, so agree the meeting point using the terminal on your ticket. CAAC terminal notice · Government name-change notice

Editorial road allowances are 1½–2½ hours from the airport, 1–1½ hours from a central hotel and 1¼–2 hours from Ürümqi station. Rail does not reach the ski base. Add arrival formalities, weather contingency and the airline's check-in lead time. For an early flight, return to the city the previous evening.

City or resort-area accommodation

A city hotel offers restaurants and non-ski activities with a daily drive. Shuixigou or resort-area lodging reduces morning travel. The official listing includes mountain accommodation: verify winter access, luggage handling and late check-in rather than treating it as a roadside hotel.

Specify skiing or snowboarding, adult or child teaching and requested language through an authorized school. Confirm boots, skis or board, poles where relevant, helmet, clothing and storage separately. A timed beginner package may not cover every lift. English tuition and current rental stock require confirmation.

Four days from Ürümqi

Day 1: arrive and rest. Day 2: transfer, equipment fitting and lesson or orientation. Day 3: ski again with an early finish if needed. Day 4: depart or add city time. One ski day is a taster; two or three gives learners more practice. Altay is a separate travel leg, not another local resort stop.
