Jikepulin Ski Guide: A Longer Hemu Holiday
Jikepulin is a Hemu-area mountain holiday, with substantial travel time on either side of the ski days. Give the trip room for daylight transfers and distinguish a village guesthouse from a resort-area base.

Mountain skiing with a deliberate pace
Jikepulin hosted a Freeride World Tour qualifier in December 2025. That supports its advanced reputation, but competition terrain is not a promise of visitor access. Intermediates should select open groomed runs carefully; beginners need confirmed learning terrain and suitable instruction before booking a remote stay. Xinjiang sports authority
Opening targets and daily closures
A 24 October report gives a mid-November 2026 opening target, not a fixed day or full-terrain commitment. The previous season's announcement opened named sections only. Check spring operation separately. 2026 target · 2025 selective opening
Snowfall can improve coverage while disrupting roads and increasing avalanche danger. A January 2026 authority notice temporarily closed Lingyun Valley. It is historical, but illustrates why daily closures matter more than online tracks or powder photographs. Stay within open marked terrain. Authority notice
Plan a substantial daylight transfer
Altay Xuedu Airport (AAT) is a practical gateway. People's Daily reported a winter drive exceeding four hours; allow 4½–6 hours or more as an editorial planning range. The Ahe Highway is not an all-weather guarantee, and a detour can consume the day. Winter-access reporting · Transport authority
Kanas Airport (KJI) is an alternative only if flights and winter access work for your dates: provisionally allow 2–3 hours or more, subject to a local route check. Altay and Beitun rail arrivals still require a long road leg. Obtain a station-specific estimate. Overnight near the gateway after a late arrival and retain a full buffer day before an important onward flight.
Hemu village or the resort area
A Hemu guesthouse is not automatically ski-in/ski-out. Ask for the winter door-to-lift journey, vehicle permissions, shuttle frequency and final return. Confirm heating, hot water, drying space, luggage transfer and passport registration.
Request equipment sizes and helmets before travel, especially for children. Confirm an authorized instructor's teaching language, level, meeting point and cancellation terms. English-language tuition is not verified here; mixed groups should agree whether skiing or village time leads the holiday.
Six days with protected travel time
Day 1: arrive at the gateway and overnight. Day 2: daylight transfer and settle in. Days 3–4: skiing with village time or rest as conditions allow. Day 5: travel back toward the airport, retaining disruption flexibility. Day 6: fly onward. Add nights for more ski days instead of sacrificing the travel buffer.
Questions before booking
- A return winter transfer dominates the day. Separate Hemu nights make a much more practical ski holiday.
- No. Use the daily piste and closure map, and follow patrol instructions.
- Confirm the precise address and current village access permissions. Private transport does not remove scenic-area restrictions.
