The Temple of Heaven operates under Beijing's parks bureau (like the Summer Palace) rather than the Palace Museum (like the Forbidden City). Park grounds remain open on Mondays, while principal ancient architectural/scenic complexes normally close Mondays except statutory holidays. A Monday visit still works well for park grounds and local-life observation; do not plan a full monument circuit on a normal Monday. Individual structures may also close for restoration.
