Park-only vs through-ticket decision
Buy the through-ticket if you are a first-time visitor or have over 90 minutes on site. The Hall of Prayer for Good Harvests (the icon) and Circular Mound Altar are inside the through-ticket gates - park-only stops you at the perimeter and you only see them from outside. Buy park-only only if you have under 60 min for a morning walk, or if you're returning for a second visit focused on local life.

Where to book
Book through the official Temple of Heaven or Changyou Gongyuan (Visiting Beijing Parks) WeChat platform, or ask a park comprehensive service counter for help. Advance online booking is available up to seven days ahead. Same-day purchase depends on remaining capacity. If you use an intermediary, check the ticket type and any service fee before paying.

ID / passport rules
Use the visitor's correct name and valid ID details when booking. Foreign visitors should bring their original passport and the ticket QR code for verification. Bring valid identity documents for children and anyone claiming a concession. Do not rely on being admitted without the required documents.
