Negotiation and Cross-Cultural Business
Negotiation and cross-cultural business study, on the pages we could cite, is a short non-degree title on CEIBS’s open list, not a DragonTrail seminar and not a licence to sit in on someone else’s deal. Strategic Negotiation was dated 21 August 2026 in Shanghai. That date had passed by 29 October 2026.
Information checked 29 October 2026 (Asia/Shanghai).
The list row showed no fee, no teaching language, no daily hours, and no certificate name. A second title, Game Theory in Practice, was 18 September 2026 and has also passed. No later negotiation date was on the rows we read. Cross-cultural company meetings are not confirmed. We will not invent a 2027 run.
At a Glance
| Credential | Non-degree. Strategic Negotiation sits under open enrolment, not under the MBA or EMBA degree rows. Completing it, if a future run exists, is not a master’s. |
|---|---|
| Host and faculty | CEIBS, city printed as 上海 for Strategic Negotiation and for Game Theory in Practice. Faculty names were not on the list. DragonTrail is not the host. |
| Work experience | Not stated for these titles. The executive-education column says academic minimum none and experience varies by programme. Do not import the EMBA’s eight-year rule or the MBA’s two-year rule. |
| Language | Blank on the row. Cross-cultural content might be taught in English, Chinese, or with interpretation. The page we read did not say. The MBA’s English rule is for the MBA. |
| Curriculum | Unread. We did not open a brochure, so tactics, cases, and whether culture is a unit or the whole course are unknown. The title is not a syllabus. Game Theory in Practice is a different title with its own passed date. |
| Company access | Not confirmed. A negotiation classroom is not a live deal and not a visit to a counterparty’s office. No firm is named as a practice host. |
| Certificate | Not stated. Do not assume a diploma word that appears on a different CEIBS title. An employer who needs a named certificate should ask the school what a future run would issue. |
| Schedule | 21 August 2026 and 18 September 2026 are both behind the review date. No replacement negotiation date was printed on the list we used. Absence of a future date is not proof a later course will open. |
| Employer papers | No standard form was published for this title. Internal permission to attend would have been the employer’s. Statutory educational leave was not claimed on the card, and a passed date cannot be used for a future leave application. |
The Cited Negotiation Date Is Already Over
CEIBS’s open-enrolment list groups a heading, Negotiation and Decision-making, and under it Strategic Negotiation Programme in Shanghai with the date 21 August 2026. Game Theory in Practice, also Shanghai, is dated 18 September 2026 and sits in the strategy group. Both dates are before 29 October 2026. We cite them so you can see what was public, not so you can book them. A search engine may still show the titles. The calendar does not.
No fee sat beside either title. No language, no hour count, no certificate. Those blanks stay blanks. DragonTrail cannot move 21 August into November. If CEIBS posts a later run, the new page is the source, with a new retrieval date. Until then, anyone selling a “CEIBS negotiation week” on those old dates is not reading the list we read.
Cross-Cultural Work Inside a Degree Is a Different Contract
The full-time MBA is taught in English in 上海 and includes organisational behaviour, a Leadership Journey, and electives that the FAQ says can cover many topics. It does not, in the paragraphs we used, isolate a required cross-cultural negotiation course with a public syllabus. China Modules expose students to business contexts. They are not a short negotiation ticket. The degree costs RMB 488,000 for sixteen months and asks for two years of work. That is the wrong price and the wrong bar for a course whose own price was never printed.
The Global EMBA’s breadth is international modules, not a negotiation certificate. Chinese EMBA classrooms use Mandarin or English with interpretation, which is itself a cross-cultural fact about that degree, and still not a public short course. People who need to negotiate in Chinese need a language plan the MBA explicitly does not require. Optional Mandarin classes on the MBA are not a negotiation credential.
Culture Is Not a Company Visit
Cross-cultural business, as a search, often hides a request to watch a real negotiation or to meet a counterparty. The open-course cards do not offer that. Company access is unconfirmed. A classroom case about a joint venture is not the joint venture’s office. We will not name a firm, a port, or a factory as a practice ground. Custom programmes can discuss the client’s own deals with the client’s own managers. They do not admit outsiders to those deals.
A study tour that promises “live negotiations” is the same gap as every other tour page in this cluster. Without a host letter, the hour is empty. Interpretation, if you need it, is a cost and a confidentiality issue. It was not specified for Strategic Negotiation. Do not assume a booth of interpreters because the Chinese EMBA mentions interpretation.
What to Ask If a New Date Appears
A usable brochure would state the city, the dates, the daily hours, the language, the fee, what the fee includes, the certificate wording, and whether any meeting happens off campus. The August card had the city and one date. Everything else was missing, which is why this page is thin on purpose. Thin is better than a invented syllabus about “guanxi” or bargaining rituals. Those lectures may exist somewhere. They were not in the source we are willing to cite.
Work experience requirements, if a future brochure adds them, should be read there. Today the only general line is the programme table: academic minimum none, experience varies. A buyer with two years of work and a buyer with twenty are not sorted by anything we saw on the negotiation row. Assessment — a role play, an exam, or attendance only — was also unread.
Employer Evidence and Leave Do Not Attach to a Past Date
You cannot file a leave request against 21 August 2026 after 29 October 2026 and expect a recognizing body to treat it as future training. German Bildungsurlaub, where it exists, needs a recognized event and a future plan. Hessen requires Hessian recognition. Baden-Württemberg recognizes institutions under its statute, not a course date that has expired. CEIBS did not claim either status on this card.
An employer’s internal training record is a different paper. If you already attended, ask CEIBS what it actually issued. We do not know. If you did not attend, DragonTrail cannot certify attendance. The MBA’s organisational chart and the EMBA’s “permission to be absent” letter are degree files. They are not a negotiation-course enrolment.
Where to Look Next Without Inventing a Course
Check the open-enrolment page again for a negotiation title dated after today. If none exists, the honest answer is that we cannot cite a current seat. Nearby future classrooms on the same list, such as finance on 12 November 2026 or marketing on 25 November 2026, are different subjects. Do not retitle them as negotiation. A degree is available only if you want the degree’s length and bar.
Find a Suitable Program will not show a hidden CEIBS seminar. Request Guidance can help you decide whether you need a short course, a degree, or a meeting that still has no host. Say that the August and September dates have passed, and say which language you need. Do not ask us to recreate the course. If a later brochure appears, compare its hours with any leave rule you care about before you treat a role-play day as a recognized block. A cross-cultural title can still be a classroom case about a joint venture rather than a meeting with that venture, and the August card never showed which one it was. Until a new date names the city, the hours, the language, and the paper at the end, the only honest status is that no current negotiation seat is cited here. A role-play inside a future classroom would still not be a live counterparty, and that distinction should stay in the note you send us. Interpretation, if you need it, is a separate cost the August card never priced.

These pages were read on 29 October 2026 (Asia/Shanghai). Tuition, language rules, and application windows change, and several dates on them have already passed. A CUCAS card is CUCAS’s listing. FAQ
Can I still take Strategic Negotiation on 21 August 2026?
No. That date had passed by 29 October 2026. Game Theory in Practice on 18 September 2026 had also passed. DragonTrail cannot move either course. Look for a later CEIBS date, and treat this page as a record of what the list showed, not as a booking.
How much did the course cost?
The list did not say. We will not estimate a fee from the MBA’s RMB 488,000 or from the length of a negotiation programme. If you need a number, it has to come from a CEIBS brochure for a specific run.
Was the course taught in English?
The row did not say. Cross-cultural topics are sometimes assumed to be in English. That assumption is not a source. The MBA is in English. This short course did not inherit that sentence.
Is this the same as an MBA negotiation elective?
No. MBA electives start in Term 3 of a 16-month degree for admitted students. The open title was a separate executive-education row with one past date. We did not read a syllabus that equates them.
Will I practise with a real Chinese company?
Not based on the card. Company access is unconfirmed. A case in a classroom is not a live counterparty. Custom programmes discuss the client’s own issues with the client’s own people and do not admit outside visitors.
What certificate would I have received?
Unknown. The list did not name one. A diploma word on a different CEIBS title does not transfer. If you attended the August run, ask the school what it issued. We cannot reissue it.
Does a passed course still count for educational leave?
A date in the past cannot be a future leave plan. Recognition depends on the workplace’s jurisdiction and on a body that has actually recognized the provider or the event. CEIBS’s card does not claim that recognition. We did not see a Hessian or Baden-Württemberg approval for this title.
What can I study instead this season?
Only titles that still have future dates on the open list, and only after you confirm language and fee. Finance and marketing cards had November 2026 dates. They are not negotiation courses. A degree is a different commitment. Request Guidance will not invent a replacement seminar.
