Leadership and Management
Leadership and management study in China is either time inside a degree or a short open course with its own date. CEIBS prints both. The open list shows Women in Leadership in Shanghai on 11 November 2026, and it does not show a price. DragonTrail does not hold a seat in either format.

Language, fee, daily hours, and the exact certificate were not on the open-course rows. Several other leadership-related dates had already passed by 29 October 2026. The Global EMBA’s leadership stream is part of a two-year part-time degree whose English pages show no tuition. No company visit is attached.

Three Leadership Products on One Campus
Leadership is a crowded word on a business-school site. CEIBS uses it for a stream inside the Global EMBA, for open titles such as Women in Leadership, and for a one-to-two-week advanced block inside company-specific work. The first is a master’s with an eight-year experience floor. The second is a dated public classroom. The third is a private contract with no public date. People who ask for “a leadership course in Shanghai” need to say which of the three they can attend, because the papers, the price, and the certificate do not travel between them.
DragonTrail teaches none of the three. The MBA also mentions a Leadership Journey from orientation through Term 2, which is a fourth use of the word, inside the 16-month English degree. That journey is not Women in Leadership, and its RMB 488,000 tuition is not the short course’s unknown fee. Keep the degree page and this page apart when you budget.
The November Date, and the Dates Already Gone
Women in Leadership was printed for 上海 on 11 November 2026. That is after 29 October 2026, so the clock had not run out on the day we read the list. The list did not show price, language, hours, or remaining seats. CHRO, a human-resources leadership title, was modular and pointed at 25 August 2027, across Beijing, Shanghai, and Shenzhen. Advanced Management Programme showed several 2026 dates that have passed and one on 3 December 2026. The Psychology of Coaching Teams title was 29 May 2026 in Shanghai and is history.
A future date is an invitation to read the brochure, not an invitation from us. Modular programmes that list many cities do not say you visit all of them. Assume one cohort location until the brochure says otherwise. Past dates are not reopenable by DragonTrail. If the 11 November course fills or moves, the school’s page wins.
The Degree Stream Has a Heavier Bar
Global EMBA participants take a leadership stream as one of four, on top of business fundamentals and a capstone, over two part-time years. Classes are four days a month or eight days every two months, with a November intake whose year was not clearly open. The FAQ’s intro calls this programme full-time; the programme page says part-time. We leave that conflict visible. Tuition was not on the English EMBA pages, so a leadership stream has no yuan figure here. Borrowing the full-time MBA fee would price the wrong contract.
The experience rule is eight years of work and five in management, plus an undergraduate degree and, for the Global EMBA, strong English. A manager who wants only the November short course should not be told to meet that bar. A manager who wants the degree should not be told the short course replaces it. Switching tracks, which the FAQ allows inside the Global EMBA, is a choice among degree modules, not a hop into an open course.
In-House Leadership Is the Employer’s Brief
CEIBS describes an advanced leadership development shape of one to two weeks, fully tied to the client, and a longer multi-module pipeline of six to eighteen months. Those shapes are for the contracting firm’s managers. They have no city-and-date row on the open list. Language is whatever the brief agrees. Certificate rules were not public. Company access does not extend to a second organisation’s floor.
A leadership offsite that hopes to “see how Chinese firms are run” still needs those firms to agree. Nothing on the leadership cards confirms a meeting outside the classroom. 上海 as a course city locates the teaching. It does not locate a host. Study-tour itineraries that drop a leadership lecture between two factories are mixing this page with an unconfirmed visit.
Time Away From Work Is Not Automatically Leave
An open course of unknown length may be one day or several. We did not read the hours. German educational-leave rules, where they exist, often want a run of consecutive days and a recognized provider. CEIBS’s list does not claim that recognition. Hessen, for example, wants Hessian recognition of both provider and event, and since 1 January 2024 another Land’s recognition is not a statutory claim. Baden-Württemberg recognizes institutions under its own statute, not every foreign classroom.
The Global EMBA’s clearer employer rule is about permission to attend, not about statutory pay. Sponsorship of fees is not required. HR can still refuse the days. A custom programme’s participants are already the company’s nominees, so the leave question is internal policy unless a public scheme is in play. DragonTrail will not sign the leave form or the nomination list.
Match the Bar to the Calendar You Can Keep
If you can be in Shanghai around 11 November 2026 and you want a public classroom, ask CEIBS about Women in Leadership: language, fee, hours, and the paper at the end. If you manage already and can give four days a month for two years, read the EMBA page and accept the blank tuition. If the whole team must learn together, read the corporate page and expect a private proposal from the school, not from us. If you wanted a plant tour with a leadership lecture attached, the plant is unconfirmed.
Find a Suitable Program organises routes. Request Guidance can sort these three products. Neither button reserves 11 November. Bring the date you can travel, the language you need, and whether a master’s is required. Leave ranking claims off the request. CEIBS’s own league-table sentences are not ours. A CHRO date in 2027 is a human-resources title, not proof that Women in Leadership lasts more than the single November day printed beside it.

FAQ
Is Women in Leadership an MBA course?
It is an open-enrolment title on CEIBS’s executive-education list, printed for Shanghai on 11 November 2026. The MBA is a separate 16-month degree. The short course has no published fee on that list and no published statement that it grants a degree.
Is 11 November 2026 still a real date?
It was still in the future on 29 October 2026, which is not the same as a free seat. The page can change. Other leadership-related dates, including 29 May 2026, had already passed. We do not reopen past dates and we do not hold the November one.
What will the course cost and in which language?
Neither fact was on the list row. We will not copy the MBA’s RMB 488,000 or its English-only rule. Ask CEIBS for the brochure. A blank here is intentional.
How is this different from the EMBA leadership stream?
The stream is inside a two-year part-time master’s for people with eight years of work, five of them managerial. Classes are monthly blocks, not a single November date. English EMBA pages we read did not show tuition. The FAQ intro and the programme page disagree on full-time versus part-time.
Can my company book a private leadership week?
CEIBS describes company-specific leadership shapes of one to two weeks, and longer pipelines. That is a contract with the school for your own managers. DragonTrail does not issue it. There is no public price and no visitor access for other firms.
Does the course include meeting other companies?
Not on the materials we read. Company access is unconfirmed. A classroom in Shanghai is not a headquarters visit. Custom programmes teach the client’s staff. They do not publish a host list.
Will I get a certificate?
Unknown for the open titles whose brochures we did not open. The EMBA is a master’s, and that parchment does not transfer to a short course. Ask what paper the specific date issues before you promise it to an employer.
Can I claim educational leave?
Only if the body that recognizes courses for your workplace says this one qualifies. CEIBS does not claim that status on the list. Manager approval to travel is a separate internal step. We cannot certify either.
