China Business Immersion

China business immersion is a phrase schools use for time spent on how business in China actually runs. On the CEIBS pages we read, that time sits inside a degree — China Modules, a strategy project, or a Global EMBA map — and it is not a one-week product DragonTrail can reserve.

Information checked 29 October 2026 (Asia/Shanghai).

No public immersion calendar, fee, or named host was found. The MBA FAQ’s “real company” is unnamed. Open-course dates are single classrooms. A four-city MiM is a two-year degree, not a short immersion. DragonTrail does not operate an immersion week.

At a Glance

CredentialUsually a piece of a degree, not a standalone certificate we can describe. China Modules belong to the CEIBS MBA. The Global MiM’s Shanghai term belongs to that double master’s. A short open course is a third, thinner product.
Host and facultyCEIBS faculty, for CEIBS students, in 上海 and on the module map the school publishes. A visiting group’s own professor is not automatically added. We confirm no outside host.
Work experienceInherited from the degree, if you want the module as a student. MBA: two or more years. MiM: at most about one year. EMBA: eight years with five in management. A one-week visitor does not pick up those bars, and also does not pick up the module.
LanguageMBA modules are in the English degree. Global EMBA mixes English requirements with a wide module map. Chinese EMBA uses Mandarin or English with interpretation. An immersion week in the abstract has no language until a programme exists.
CurriculumMBA FAQ: China Modules and overseas modules, plus a three-month Integrated China Strategy Project. MiM: a first term of core management in Shanghai, then Paris, London, and Zurich. Those are curricula for admitted students.
Company accessNot confirmed for visitors. The strategy project uses a real company that is not named, for MBA students, over three months. That is not a Thursday site visit and not a list of firms.
CertificateThe degree certificate, if you complete the degree. There is no separate “immersion diploma” on the pages we read. An open-course paper would cover only that course.
ScheduleMBA: 16 months with modules inside it, start month disputed (August versus September). MiM: about 14 months of coursework inside two years, Class of 2026 already past. EMBA: monthly blocks over two years. None of these is a single immersion week.
Employer papersDegree files differ. The MBA FAQ mentions an organisational chart. The Global EMBA asks the employer to allow class days and says sponsorship is optional. Neither form admits you to a short immersion. Leave statutes are a further step we did not see claimed.

Immersion Is a Word, Not Yet a Week

Travellers use “China business immersion” for anything from a two-year degree to a five-day sprint of meetings. The CEIBS FAQ supports the longer meaning. It says the MBA includes China Modules and overseas modules, and a three-month Integrated China Strategy Project with a real company. It also says Global MiM students spend a first term on core management in Shanghai before Paris, London, and Zurich. Those are stages of admission, tuition, and assessment. They are not a visitor pass.

DragonTrail does not sell a shorter substitute. We will not sketch five days in 上海 with unnamed “local firms” and call it immersion. If a host school later publishes a non-degree immersion with dates and a fee, that page should be cited with its retrieval date. This one only reports what we could read, which is degree structure plus open classrooms that are not immersions.

A Three-Month Project Is Not a Site Visit

The strategy project is the clearest company sentence in the MBA FAQ: hands-on work with a real company, about three months, inside the degree, alongside career coaching that is also for enrolled students. No sector, no city beyond the programme’s Shanghai base, and no company name. Career treks “such as Hong Kong” are examples of career activity, not a booked trek. Treating either sentence as a menu of visits would invent access the school did not offer the public.

Global EMBA copy widens the map — more than 20 destinations, with Shanghai, Zurich, Singapore, and Accra named — and still talks about modules for participants, not about a public immersion week. Electives at partner schools are exchange inside that programme. They are not a side door for a study tour. Company access for anyone who is not admitted remains unconfirmed.

Four Cities Are a Degree, Including the Internship

The MiM’s Shanghai opening can look like an immersion term, and in a sense it is: core management, in the city, before the cohort moves. It is also the start of a double master’s priced, for Class of 2026, at €59,000 plus €2,800, with GMAT or GRE, and with rounds that have passed. The required internship of four to eight months is work, host unnamed. Calling the Shanghai term a bookable immersion drops the other three cities, the thesis, and the fee.

Someone who wants only two weeks in China is not a MiM candidate, and a MiM candidate who wants only two weeks is not following the curriculum. The FAQ allows little prior work experience. That bar is the opposite of an EMBA immersion fantasy in which senior executives drop in for a module. Senior executives have their own part-time degree, with eight years of experience, and its English pages did not show a tuition or a visitor day.

A Single Classroom Is the Shortest Honest Option

If the goal is a few days of teaching rather than a degree, CEIBS’s open list is the public calendar. It is topic by topic. Marketing strategy on 25 November 2026 in Shanghai is a marketing classroom. It is not an immersion across industries. The Beijing AI date of 24 October 2026 had already passed. None of the cards added a company tour. Language and price were blank. Using one card as the academic core of a wider week still leaves every other hour unconfirmed.

Custom programmes can be two or three days, but only for the contracting employer’s staff. That is immersion in the company’s own problem, taught by faculty, not immersion in other firms. It has no public date. It should not be sold to a mixed group of students as if it were open enrolment.

Papers Follow the Product You Actually Enter

Enter the MBA, and the file looks like an MBA file: tests, essays, recommendations, and the organisational chart the FAQ mentions. Enter the MiM, and the file is academic, with a test score that can be conditional. Enter nothing, because no short immersion exists here, and there is no file. Employer sponsorship is not required for the Global EMBA and is not a feature we can describe for a week that is not on sale. A visa category was not read in a CEIBS instruction during this pass. A 16-month degree and a three-day class will not share a visa story, and we will not invent one.

Educational leave is a poor fit for an undefined week. Recognizing bodies ask for a provider, hours, and dates. We cannot supply them. A manager who already holds an EMBA seat has the school’s monthly calendar to show HR, and still must check whether that calendar meets a statutory pattern. Immersion language on a brochure does not replace that check.

Choose the Length You Can Actually Finish

If you can spend sixteen months and you have two years of work, read the MBA page and its unresolved August-versus-September start. If you are a recent graduate and can spend two years in four cities, read the degrees page and treat the euro fee as Class of 2026 only. If you can spare four days a month and you already manage, read the EMBA page and its blank fee. If you can spare a few days and you want a published topic, read the short-course page. If you wanted a mixed week of companies, stop: hosts are not confirmed.

Find a Suitable Program will sort routes. Request Guidance will not create an immersion that CEIBS did not publish. Bring the length of time you truly have, the language you can study in, and whether a degree is required. Leave factory names off the first message. A module map with Shanghai, Zurich, Singapore, and Accra is the Global EMBA’s own geography for its students, not a city pair you can buy for a week.

These pages were read on 29 October 2026 (Asia/Shanghai). Tuition, language rules, and application windows change, and several dates on them have already passed. A CUCAS card is CUCAS’s listing. Use the current page from the school, or from the body that recognizes educational leave, before you act.

FAQ

Is there a one-week China business immersion to book?

Not from DragonTrail, and not as a public CEIBS product on the pages we read. Immersion language there belongs to degree modules and to a three-month project. A one-week mix of companies would need hosts. None are confirmed.

What is the Integrated China Strategy Project?

CEIBS’s FAQ describes it as a three-month consulting engagement with a real company for MBA students. The company is not named. It is not a visitor day, not a study-tour stop, and not a placement DragonTrail controls.

Does the Global MiM start with time in Shanghai?

Yes, on the FAQ: the first term in Shanghai covers core management, then Paris, London, and Zurich. That term is part of a two-year double degree, not a detachable immersion. Class of 2026 rounds and the August 2026 start language are in the past.

Can I join a China Module without the MBA?

The FAQ presents China Modules and overseas modules as part of the MBA curriculum. It does not offer them as a separate ticket. Assume they come with admission, tuition, and the 16-month (or 12-month) commitment until CEIBS says otherwise.

Which companies would we meet?

None that we can name. Company access for a non-admitted visitor is unconfirmed. We will not borrow client names from executive-education pages or invent sectors. If a host letter exists, it did not come from this review.

How much does an immersion cost?

A standalone immersion has no price here because it has no offer. Degree stickers — RMB 488,000 for the CEIBS MBA, €59,000 for the Class of 2026 MiM — buy those degrees, not a week. Open-course prices were not on the list we read.

What language is the Shanghai term?

For the MBA and the MiM, CEIBS says the programmes are taught in English. The Chinese EMBA is Mandarin or English with interpretation. A hypothetical short immersion has no language until someone publishes the programme. Do not mix these.

What should I ask for instead?

Ask for the degree that matches your years of work, or for one named open course and its brochure. Ask us only to help you keep those apart from a company tour. Request Guidance does not reserve a module or a host.

Compare study routes, or tell us the credential, the teaching language, and whether an employer is sending you. Neither button admits you to a business school or books a company visit.
