What to compare instead of quality slogans
| Topic | What to confirm | Who owns it |
|---|---|---|
| Booking path | App, desk, or international email | The facility |
| Language | Consult, consent form, and discharge | The facility |
| Money | Deposit, card, and whose name is on the receipt | Cashier and your insurer |
| Travel | Campus address and a realistic arrival buffer | You or a ground quote |
The useful difference is how you book, pay, and find a language desk. It is not a score for medical quality.
How do public and private hospitals differ for a visitor, without ranking them?
Large public hospitals in China can be busy, registered through local systems, and organized by department rather than by a single international package. Some have an international or VIP desk and some do not. Private and international hospitals more often publish an English booking page and a cashier process aimed at visitors. Either kind can be the place your clinician named. Neither label means a better outcome.
Ask both types the same practical questions. Which campus, which registration name, whether a deposit is collected before the day, whether the cashier accepts the card you actually carry, and whether discharge papers are issued in a language your insurer accepts. Put the answers in writing. A travel site should not guess card acceptance or a deposit amount.
Direct billing to an insurer is a contract between that insurer and that facility. Do not assume a private hospital bills your insurer, and do not assume a public hospital will not. The insurance questions page is a list of questions, not a coverage decision.
Profiles on the hospital hub include both public and private names so you can see official pages. Listing both is not a recommendation to prefer one sector. For Hainan, read Boao and Lecheng as geography, then confirm the campus with the facility.
What to write down
- Public or private is a booking clue, not a quality rank
- Department and campus, written down
- Deposit and cashier method, asked on their page or by email
- Language of the consultation and of the discharge note
- Whether your insurer has its own list, which we do not copy

Questions people ask
- Not as a rule. Some are easier to book in English. Quality and fit are clinical questions for your physicians.
- Some departments do, through their own process. Ask that hospital. Do not generalize from one campus.
- No. The facility assigns beds. We can plan a hotel and a transfer around a confirmation they have already sent.
- Only after the facility gives you its estimate. Do not use a sector label as a price.
Talk to the medical desk
The medical desk coordinates logistics after a facility has its own plan. It does not diagnose, quote a treatment, or decide entry.
