Three private Tibet routes — five days focused on Lhasa, eight days on the classic Yamdrok–Gyantse–Shigatse circuit, or ten days to Tibet-side Everest Base Camp via Tingri.

Permit + altitude pacing
Quote-led planning • Tibet-side EBC clarity • Fast WhatsApp reply
Private, quote-led sample routes for central Tibet. Classic is the usual first overland circuit (Yamdrok, Gyantse, Shigatse). Essence stays in Lhasa for limited days and gentler acclimatization. Highlights pushes to Tibet-side Everest Base Camp via Tingri — not the Nepal trek. Mount Kailash and Nyingchi are custom extensions. The set routes stay Classic, Essence, and Highlights.
Most popular
8 DAYS
Classic Tibet Circuit
Lhasa → Yamdrok Lake → Gyantse → Shigatse → return Lhasa — the private classic circuit. Potala and Jokhang acclimatization days, turquoise Yamdrok, Gyantse Dzong/Kumbum, and Tashilhunpo with overland pacing explained upfront.
5 DAYS
Lhasa Essence
Lhasa-focused days — Potala Palace, Jokhang and Barkhor, Drepung or Sera — with optional nearby day trip. Built for acclimatization and limited schedules without the long southern circuit.
10 DAYS
Tibet Everest Highlights
Classic circuit plus Tingri and Rongbuk / Everest Base Camp on the Tibet (north) side. Altitude days sequenced honestly — this is a China overland EBC trip, not a Nepal trek.
Why book directly with DragonTrail?
Private Vehicle
Your vehicle for the group — no shared tour bus and no fixed coach clock between Lhasa, the southern circuit, and Tingri.
Tibet-side EBC Clarity
Highlights means Rongbuk and the north base camp via Tingri. We do not sell a Nepal Everest Base Camp trek on this page.
Permit Coordination
Tibet Travel Permit timing is built into the quote. We tell you what documents we need and realistic processing windows before you fly.
English-speaking Guide
An English-speaking guide on sightseeing days, scoped in the plan we send you.
Altitude-aware Pacing
Lhasa nights come first. Circuit and EBC days only after you have room to adjust — Essence skips the high road entirely.
No Shopping Stops
Routes stay on monasteries, lakes, and highland roads. We do not insert shopping stops.
How It Works
1
Send Your Dates
Share LXA arrival, start date, party size, nationality (for permits), and whether Namtso, Tibet-side EBC, or Kailash matters.
2
Confirm a Route & Permit Plan
We reply with a realistic Essence, Classic, or Highlights shape — including altitude and permit notes — and a quote before you pay.
3
Meet in Lhasa
Your driver meets you at Lhasa Gonggar (LXA) or your Lhasa hotel. The vehicle is private for your group.
4
Circuit or EBC Days
Lhasa monasteries, Yamdrok–Gyantse–Shigatse, and Tingri / Rongbuk only when that route is the one you confirmed.
5
Flexible Daily Pacing
Altitude comfort, weather, and road conditions can shift a day. We adjust the agreed plan instead of locking you to a bus timetable.

“Jason was wonderful! He was very responsive, had great insight on the best areas to hike, and was genuinely kind. As a solo female traveler I felt safe 100% of the time — I would definitely book again and recommend him to friends.

FAQ
Private for your group. The vehicle, guide days, and daily order are planned around your dates — not a set coach departure with shopping stops.
Most foreign travelers need a Tibet Travel Permit (and sometimes additional passes for Everest or border areas) arranged through a licensed operator before entering the Tibet Autonomous Region. Share passport nationality early; we build permit timing into the quote. This is planning guidance, not legal advice — rules can change.
No. Tibet Everest Highlights is the China / Tibet (north) side via Tingri and Rongbuk. Nepal EBC trek packages are a different product and country — we do not sell those on this page.
Plan about ten days when EBC is the point (Highlights), so Lhasa acclimatization and the southern circuit are not crushed. Eight days (Classic) stays on the Yamdrok–Gyantse–Shigatse loop without EBC. Five days (Essence) stays in Lhasa.
No. We quote after we know your dates, party size, nationality for permits, and which bases you want. Entrance tickets stay in that quote.
Yes as custom extensions — west Tibet / Kailash is a longer expedition; Nyingchi is an east Tibet spur. Ask for them as extra days on a private plan. They are not a fourth set route beside Essence, Classic, and Highlights.
Lhasa Gonggar Airport (LXA), Lhasa railway station, or your Lhasa hotel. If you are still choosing a hotel, select “Not sure yet” and tell us the area in the note.
