Three private Silk Road routes across Gansu — three to four days focused on Dunhuang Mogao and the dunes, five to seven days walking the Hexi Corridor from Lanzhou through Zhangye Danxia and Jiayuguan Fort to Dunhuang, or eight to ten days for a fuller Highlights circuit.

Mogao + Hexi pacing
Quote-led planning • Hexi Corridor clarity • Fast WhatsApp reply
Private, quote-led sample routes for Gansu. Classic is the usual first trip: Lanzhou launch, Zhangye Colorful Danxia, Jiayuguan Fort, then Dunhuang Mogao and the dunes. Essence stays in Dunhuang for Mogao and Crescent Lake / Mingsha. Highlights adds deeper Dunhuang days on the same Hexi spine. Qinghai or Xinjiang fold-ins, photography weeks, and Tianshui Maijishan stay custom. The set routes stay Classic, Essence, and Highlights.
Most popular
5–7 DAYS
Hexi Silk Road Classic
Lanzhou arrival with Yellow River / noodle context, then Zhangye Colorful Danxia, Jiayuguan Fort on the western Great Wall, and Dunhuang Mogao with Crescent Lake / Mingsha. The private default first Gansu shape.
3–4 DAYS
Dunhuang Essence
Dunhuang-focused days — Mogao Caves with timed-entry honesty, plus Crescent Lake and Mingsha dunes — without the multi-city Hexi road commitment.
8–10 DAYS
Gansu Silk Road Highlights
Classic Hexi spine plus deeper Dunhuang museum / cave pacing and optional rest buffers. Tianshui Maijishan stays optional flavor on quote — not a required stop.

Private Vehicle
Your vehicle for the group — no shared tour bus clock between Lanzhou, Zhangye Danxia, Jiayuguan, and Dunhuang.
Hexi Corridor Clarity
Classic means the Silk Road spine: Danxia, Jiayuguan Fort, then Mogao. We do not sell a vague "northwest China" blur or a Tibet EBC card on this page.
Mogao Timed-Entry Honesty
Cave visits need reservation reality and soft mornings. We plan Dunhuang days around timed entry — not a rushed checklist selfie stop.
English-speaking Guide
An English-speaking guide on sightseeing days, scoped in the plan we send you.
Desert + Light Pacing
Hexi heat, dune sand, and Danxia golden hour are real. We pace midday shade and photo light instead of locking you to a coach timetable.
No Shopping Stops
Routes stay on caves, dunes, Danxia, and the Fort. We do not insert shopping stops.
How It Works
1
Send Your Dates
Share LHW or DNH arrival, start date, party size, and whether full Hexi, Dunhuang-only, or Mogao timing matters.
2
Confirm a Route Shape
We reply with a realistic Essence, Classic, or Highlights shape — including cave-entry notes — and a quote before you pay.
3
Meet in Lanzhou or Dunhuang
Your driver meets you at Lanzhou Zhongchuan (LHW), Dunhuang Mogao Airport (DNH), or your hotel when that base fits the plan.
4
Corridor and Cave Days
Zhangye Danxia, Jiayuguan Fort, Mogao, and the dunes only when that route is the one you confirmed.
5
Flexible Daily Pacing
Heat, wind, and timed-entry windows can shift a day. We adjust the agreed plan instead of locking you to a bus timetable.

FAQ
Private for your group. The vehicle, guide days, and daily order are planned around your dates — not a set coach departure with shopping stops.
Plan about five to seven days when the Hexi Corridor is the point (Classic): Lanzhou, Zhangye Danxia, Jiayuguan Fort, and Dunhuang. Three to four days (Essence) keep Dunhuang Mogao and the dunes without the multi-city road commitment. Eight to ten days (Highlights) add deeper Dunhuang time on the same spine.
No. This page is Gansu Province on the Hexi / Silk Road corridor — Dunhuang, Zhangye, Jiayuguan, with Lanzhou as the hub. Full Lhasa, EBC, and Tibet permits live on our Tibet private tours page.
No. We quote after we know your dates, party size, and which bases you want. Entrance tickets and activity choices stay in that quote.
Yes — that is the Essence shape. Mogao plus Crescent Lake / Mingsha without Zhangye and Jiayuguan transfers. If you later want the full corridor, Classic is the usual upgrade.
Yes as custom extensions. Qinghai Lake / Xining fold-ins usually hand to our Qinghai private tours page for the Qinghai product. Xinjiang extensions and Tianshui Maijishan need extra days. They are not a fourth set route beside Essence, Classic, and Highlights.
Lanzhou Zhongchuan Airport (LHW), Dunhuang Mogao Airport (DNH), your Lanzhou or Dunhuang hotel, or Zhangye / Jiayuguan area hotels when that base fits. If you are still choosing a hotel, select “Not sure yet” and tell us the area in the note.
Classic keeps the traveler-critical Hexi spine that competitors already sell as Silk Road. Tianshui Maijishan is optional Highlights flavor. Wuwei stays out of the first-wave set cards until travel intent is cleaner.
