Acupuncture and TCM Short Courses

An acupuncture short course and a traditional Chinese medicine degree are different contracts. The prospectus we opened is a five-year English-taught degree at 上海中医药大学, CNY 42,000 a year. A short-course price, length, and certificate were not on the pages we read. DragonTrail does not sell a weekend needle class.

Information checked 29 October 2026 (Asia/Shanghai).

Calling the five-year Bachelor of Chinese Medicine a short course would mislead you. The English site’s navigation includes the words Short Courses. We opened the education list, not a priced short-course brochure. No certificate title, no daily fee, and no partner clinic is printed here. Patient needling is not offered.

The PDF in Hand Is a Five-Year Degree

Searchers often want ten days of acupuncture and a certificate they can show an employer. The document that actually downloaded is No. ENB2026900511 from 上海中医药大学: Traditional Chinese Medicine (Acupuncture), taught in English, five years, three trimesters a year, ending in a Bachelor of Chinese Medicine if credits, GPA, and examinations are passed. Tuition is CNY 42,000 a year. The application fee is CNY 450 as received by the university. Insurance is CNY 800 a year. Textbooks are extra. The class is independent and needs at least five students. Applications ran from 1 December 2025 to 30 June 2026 for a September 2026 start. On 29 October 2026 that sale, if it was a sale, was over.

None of those facts becomes a short course if you only attend part of the year. The prospectus does not offer a single-trimester certificate. It does not price a continuing-education day. People who need a short course still need a different document from the school. Until that document is open, the price cell for a short course stays blank on purpose.

A Menu Label Is Not a Timetable

The English website of 上海中医药大学 shows Short Courses in the navigation beside education and Chinese language. We opened the education page, which lists degrees, a 5+3 model, and teaching centres. It does not list a short acupuncture timetable, a teacher, a fee, or a certificate wording. The footer copyright reads 2017, so even the degree names there need the newer PDF before you pay. A menu item can survive after the course behind it has changed. We will not invent “five days, beginners, Beijing” to fill a menu we did not click into a priced page.

Chinese language study and acupuncture study are also different. The same website talks about Chinese language as its own item. A language month is not an acupuncture qualification. If your real need is spoken Chinese before any clinical contact, use the clinical-language page and the language scores the degree PDFs actually print. Do not buy a needle course, real or imagined, as a substitute for HSK when a Chinese-taught master’s is the goal.

Shaw Hospital Does Not Sell an Acupuncture Short Course

A two-week stay is the shortest period 邵逸夫医院 prints, and it is the wrong product. The hospital’s elective is clinical observation and rotations for final-year medical students, and for other healthcare students near the end of a degree, in a Western teaching hospital that excludes pediatrics. It looks for an English-speaking attending physician. It does not describe needle technique, a TCM certificate, or a weekend public workshop. The rotation, if accepted, is free of the rotation fee and not free of housing. That waiver is not a short-course scholarship for acupuncture.

Zhejiang University’s school-level elective page allows up to twelve weeks and tells you to write to a hospital coordinator. None of the coordinator titles we read was an acupuncture institute. Using those emails to ask for a holiday needle class misstates who they are. If a TCM university later hosts a visiting week, it will be on that university’s page, with its own fee. We did not open such a week.

Needling the Public Is Not a Study Activity We Describe

Acupuncture is a physical procedure. A study guide that offered “hands-on patients” as a holiday activity would be reckless, and it would break the rule that patient contact is allowed only inside a host’s written scope. The five-year prospectus talks about credits and a degree. It does not list the week you may needle a stranger. Supervised teaching, if a syllabus contains it, stays inside the school. A short course, if one exists, would need the same limit and would still not be a licence. DragonTrail will not recruit patients for practice and will not tell you that a certificate lets you charge for treatment at home.

People with a health condition sometimes look for a short course when they want treatment. This cluster is education planning, not a clinic. We do not book you as a patient at a TCM hospital. If you need care, contact a hospital as a patient through its own channels. Do not use the study form to describe symptoms. We are not a clinical service.

If the Degree Is What You Actually Want

If the five-year award is the real aim, use the degree page’s rules rather than a short-course hope. Foreign passport, Document No. 12 of 2020, high school, CSCA mathematics in English by 30 June 2026 on that now-closed form, English evidence as printed, age under 60 with exceptions, portal apply.shutcm.edu.cn, no email applications. Parents who are Chinese citizens trigger extra nationality papers. Chronic disease must be raised with the school before registration. The bank note asks you to remit RMB from abroad so the university receives the full fee. Those details live on the TCM degree page in fuller form. They are repeated here only to stop the degree being shrunk into a workshop.

A master’s that includes acupuncture would be the 2026 master’s prospectus, with a mentor from the catalog, HSK or English scores as that PDF states, and fees from CNY 34,000 to CNY 60,000 a year. The catalog was not opened, so an acupuncture mentor is not confirmed. Five students are required for a full-time English class. A short personal tutorial is not promised.

Say Degree or Short Course in the First Sentence

When you ask for guidance, start with one sentence: five-year degree, or a short course whose school page you have already found, or a hospital observation that is not acupuncture. If you have not found a short-course page, say that. We would rather confirm a blank than decorate it. Bring the PDF title if you have one. ENB2026900511 is the bachelor. ENM2026900311 is the master’s. A social-media poster with a date and a price is not either of those.

The two buttons do not enrol you and do not certify your hands. Find a Suitable Program shows how routes are organised. Request Guidance takes the question. A regulator’s recognition of TCM practice remains on the recognition page, and the answer there is that home rules vary and we do not declare you eligible.

Degree Office Details Are Not a Short-Course Booking

The bachelor prospectus also prints an office, which a weekend flyer rarely matches. Room 230, 1200 Cailun Road, Shanghai. The telephone is 0086 (0)21 51322255. The emails on the PDF are iec.admissions@shutcm.edu.cn and admissions@shutcmiec.com. The bank named is ICBC, and the school asks you to remit RMB from abroad so the university receives the full fee rather than a fee reduced by the sender’s bank. A weekday hotline, 021-51322410, is listed for 8:30 to 11:00 and 13:30 to 16:00. Those lines belong to the degree office on prospectus ENB2026900511. You may ask that office whether a short acupuncture class exists. A reply that has not arrived is not a place on a course, and a dormitory note expected around mid-July, with a fee that may fluctuate, belongs to the degree intake. A one-week class would need its own housing sentence. This PDF does not contain one.

These pages were read on 29 October 2026 (Asia/Shanghai). Tuition, language rules, and application windows change, and the 2026 windows on the school pages had already closed. A CUCAS card is CUCAS’s listing. The World Directory of Medical Schools did not return a directory page. The Campus China address named in a scholarship paragraph did not open. A hospital email printed by a university is that university’s contact. It is not a placement DragonTrail has confirmed, and it is not permission to examine a patient.

FAQ

Do you offer a one-week acupuncture course?

No. DragonTrail does not sell acupuncture courses. The priced document we opened is a five-year degree at CNY 42,000 a year. A short-course fee was not on the pages we read, so none is printed here.

Why does the school website mention short courses?

The English site’s menu includes that label. The education page we opened lists degrees and does not attach dates or prices to a short acupuncture class. A menu label is not a timetable. Ask the school for the current short-course sheet if that is the product you want.

Can I needle patients during a short stay?

Not as something this page will arrange or describe as available. Procedure on a patient needs the host’s written scope. We will not recruit patients for practice, and a certificate, even a real one, is not a licence.

Is the five-year programme still open?

The 2026 window of 1 December 2025 to 30 June 2026 had closed by 29 October 2026. The intake month on that PDF was September 2026, with the day on the admission notice. Do not pay against a closed prospectus.

What tests does the degree ask for?

CSCA mathematics, in English, and either English-taught transcripts or TOEFL above 90 or IELTS above 6 for non-native speakers. It does not ask for the MBBS set of physics and chemistry. It does not set HSK on the PDF we opened.

Is Sir Run Run Shaw Hospital an acupuncture school?

No. Its public elective is clinical observation for eligible healthcare students, two weeks to three months, with an English-speaking instructor. It is not a TCM short course and it does not issue an acupuncture certificate on the page we read.

Will a short course let me practise acupuncture at home?

We did not open a short-course certificate, so there is nothing to recognise. Even the five-year Bachelor of Chinese Medicine is an academic award. Practice rights are decided where you want to work, and this page will not declare you eligible.

What should I send if I already found a short-course flyer?

The school’s own URL, the dates, the fee, and the certificate wording. We will not treat a flyer as confirmed until it matches a page the school publishes. Do not send patient stories.

Compare study routes, or tell us the credential, the teaching language, and whether a home school must nominate you. Neither button admits you to a medical school, confirms a hospital, or licenses you to practice.
