“Wendy came highly recommended by a friend of a friend. After a small hiccup, we managed to have her as our kids' English-speaking guide. Her warmth and patience were remarkable — she brought the Terracotta Warriors to life with her deep knowledge and made history easy and engaging for my children. “Wendy is the best tour guide I've ever had! Pickup was on time. She made sure to explain the history to me before we arrived at the Terracotta Warriors. She was an expert at navigating the site, showing me all the highlights and guiding me through the crowds of people. She let me choose the other locations for the tour. Big Wild Goose Pagoda and Huaqing Hot Spring Palace were amazing to see. Wendy gave me so much valuable information not only on the history and culture of the people and these sites but also on how to navigate traveling in China in general, which apps to use and how to make the most of my time here. Wendy also went above and beyond to call the airport to help me locate my lost luggage with the airline. I am so grateful to her for her help. She provided a wonderful experience. I hope to come back and have another tour with her someday.

“Some may opt to try to get to the Terracotta Warrior complex by train or by bus tour, but we opted for the private tour to save time and any frustration of trying to keep up with a tour group in a sea of tour groups and maybe hear snippets of what you're staring at. This tour was well worth the time and fee! We were picked up promptly at our hotel by our smiling guide and then driven in a comfortable van an hour or so out to the covered dig sites pits and elaborate museum hall. Bottled water was supplied too, which given the high heat at the time, made it a necessary thing. Keep in mind these are well preserved artifacts and displays with busy crowds of other sightseers inching their way to get that great camera phone or camera shot. The fee you pay covers the entrance fee, the private van, and amazing guide who'll not just explain what all is to be found at the Terracotta Warrior displays but its history as well. An added benefit was that she also took photos of us instead of us trying to get our own out of focus selfies. Our guide also recommended where to get some nice snacks and tolerated my souvenir shopping because, hey, it's the Terracotta Warriors! Do yourself a favor and opt for the private tour because if you're spending all the time and expense to get to Xi'an, spend a little on comfort and convenience.
