Nursing Study

Nursing study in China, on the pages opened for this review, is a degree name without a printed fee, or a short hospital visit that 邵逸夫医院 will consider for nurses near the end of their training. DragonTrail does not enrol nurses and does not license them.

Information checked 29 October 2026 (Asia/Shanghai).

The English education page at 上海中医药大学 names Nursing as a bachelor and as a professional master’s, and it does not print tuition beside either name. The 2026 master’s fee table is for language and full-time status, and we did not open the mentor catalog to see whether a nursing mentor is listed. No nursing council outcome is promised.

At a Glance

Degree namesBachelor: Nursing. Professional master’s: Nursing. Both are names on the English education page at 上海中医药大学. The page footer copyright reads 2017. A name on that page is not a 2026 offer.
Bachelor feeNot printed next to Nursing. Do not use the CNY 42,000 English acupuncture bachelor fee, which belongs to the acupuncture prospectus No. ENB2026900511.
Master’s feeIf a nursing seat is inside the 2026 international master’s prospectus, tuition follows language and full-time or part-time status, from CNY 34,000 to CNY 60,000 a year. The catalog that would prove a nursing mentor was not opened.
Visit邵逸夫医院 accepts nurses, among others, for two weeks to three months. Nurses should be near the end of the degree. Final-two-years language is stated for medical students.
Visit feeThe English questions say an accepted rotation is free of charge. Housing, meals, and transport are the visitor’s. Health insurance is “completely up to you” on that page.
Lead timeThe hospital prefers the application six months ahead and says acceptance is first come, first served.
LanguageNot printed for the nursing bachelor. Chinese-taught master’s study on the SHUTCM prospectus needs HSK 5 at 180 or above. Do not assume the bachelor uses that bar.
Clinical workNot authorised here. A nursing visit is observation and learning unless the acceptance letter says what else is allowed.
LicenceA visit or a degree name does not register you as a nurse at home or in China. Ask the regulator that would actually register you.

A Nursing Name on a List Is Not an Invoice

The English education page at 上海中医药大学 is useful because it shows the shape of the school: TCM at the centre, modern medicine as one wing, and a list of degrees that includes Nursing at bachelor level and Nursing again among professional master’s programmes, beside Chinese materia medica, translation studies, and public health. It is not useful as a price list. No yuan figure sits beside Nursing. The page also describes a 5+3 clinical model and teaching awards. Those sentences are about the school’s own reform story. They are not a nursing curriculum for international students and they are not a seat count.

The only undergraduate international fee we opened at this university is the five-year English-taught TCM acupuncture prospectus, CNY 42,000 a year, minimum class of five, application window already closed. Nursing is not that prospectus. If a later nursing brochure exists, it was not the PDF we downloaded. Until it is, the fee cell stays empty. Empty is the correct public answer.

The Master’s Table Applies Only If Nursing Is in the Catalog

The 2026 master’s prospectus prices study by language and by full-time or part-time status, not by the word Nursing. Full-time Chinese-taught study is CNY 34,000 a year. Full-time English or Japanese is CNY 51,000. Part-time figures are CNY 51,000 and CNY 60,000. Tuition is said to cover lectures, clinical internship, tutor instruction, and thesis review. Books, housing, and insurance are outside it. Insurance is CNY 800 a year. None of that attaches to Nursing until a mentor in the catalog is actually a nursing mentor. The catalog was an attachment. We did not open it. Saying “nursing master’s costs CNY 34,000” would skip that missing page.

Other master’s rules still matter if you later find the mentor. You need a bachelor’s degree, a passport, HSK 5 at 180 or above for Chinese-taught study, and no minimum Chinese for English-taught study, with TOEFL 90 or IELTS 6.5 if English is not your native language. Age on that prospectus is under 65, with exceptions. Applications for 2026 closed on 15 May 2026. A class taught in English needs at least five students. A single nurse hoping for a private tutorial should not assume the class will run.

A Short Nursing Visit at Shaw Hospital

For a nurse who already has most of a qualification, the public offer we can actually point to is 浙江大学医学院附属邵逸夫医院. The English training page says the hospital accepts medical students, residents, nurses, pharmacists, and other healthcare workers for two weeks to three months of learning in a Chinese public hospital. The questions add that medical students must be in the final two years, and that other healthcare students should be near the end of the degree. A first-year nursing student does not meet that line. A nurse in the last placement of training might. The hospital decides.

Write to wangmy@srrsh.com with the form, a CV, and a university recommendation, which is what the elective page asks, and do it about six months ahead if you want to match the hospital’s preference. Acceptance is first come, first served, which means a complete early file can still lose to an earlier one. The Center for International Collaboration is on Floor 4 of Tower VII on the English page and on the 7th Floor on the Chinese page. Plan to arrive on a weekday. Students still in school are asked to come alone. The rotation fee, if you are accepted, is waived. The room is not.

A Visit Is Not a Nursing Shift

Hospitals need nurses. That fact does not turn an elective into employment. The pages we opened do not advertise jobs, salaries, or a right to give medication. Shaw’s elective page talks about observation and study, an English-speaking instructor, and an evaluation written to your school’s form after you finish. An evaluation is a letter about a learning period. It is not a Chinese nursing licence and it is not a letter that your home nursing board must accept.

Zhejiang University’s school-level elective page also says people seeking nursing training should contact the elective coordinator at the hospital they choose. That sentence confirms nursing is a category the school expects hospitals to answer. It does not confirm a place, a fee, or permission to perform procedures. The school-level page says you cover all expenses. Shaw’s page says the rotation itself is free. If you write to Shaw, use Shaw’s answer. If you write to another of the seven sites, wait for that site’s answer. Do not blend them into one policy.

Language for Nursing Is Not the MBBS List

Ward language and classroom language are different, and neither is printed beside the word Nursing on the education page. The English MBBS prospectus sets IELTS, TOEFL, CAE, and Duolingo bars for a six-year medical degree. Those bars are not a nursing policy. The Chinese-taught master’s prospectus sets HSK 5 at 180. That bar is for Chinese-taught master’s study at SHUTCM, not automatically for a nursing bachelor. Clinical conversation with a patient is a further question the host has to answer in the acceptance letter. A test score does not prove you can take a handover.

If you need Chinese for a ward and you do not have it, say so before you apply for a visit. Shaw says it will look for an English-speaking attending physician in the specialty you choose. “English-speaking instructor” does not mean every nurse on the unit will brief you in English, and it does not mean the patients speak English. Plan for that limit. It is a reason a visit can still be useful, and a reason it can fail if you expected to run a bay.

Choose Degree, Visit, or Licence Question

Write one aim at the top of your note. A bachelor’s name with no fee means you still need the school’s nursing brochure. A master’s aim means you need the mentor catalog, which we do not have. A visit aim means a six-month request to a named hospital, with no guarantee. A licence aim means your nursing regulator, not this page. Mixing the four aims is how a CNY 42,000 acupuncture fee ends up in a nursing budget.

DragonTrail can help you keep those aims apart and can point at the public emails the hospitals already print. We do not employ nurses, we do not insure a clinical placement, and we do not tell a nursing board that a visit counts as supervised practice.

These pages were read on 29 October 2026 (Asia/Shanghai). Tuition, language rules, and application windows change, and the 2026 windows on the school pages had already closed. A CUCAS card is CUCAS’s listing. The World Directory of Medical Schools did not return a directory page. The Campus China address named in a scholarship paragraph did not open. A hospital email printed by a university is that university’s contact. It is not a placement DragonTrail has confirmed, and it is not permission to examine a patient.

FAQ

Is there a published nursing tuition on these pages?

Not next to the nursing name. 上海中医药大学 lists Nursing as a bachelor and as a professional master’s and does not print a fee there. The CNY 42,000 figure is the English acupuncture bachelor. The master’s yuan figures apply only if your mentor and major are inside that prospectus.

Can a nurse observe at Sir Run Run Shaw Hospital?

You can ask. The hospital says it accepts nurses for two weeks to three months and prefers six months’ notice. You should be near the end of the degree. Acceptance is first come, first served. An email to wangmy@srrsh.com is not an approval.

Is the nursing rotation free?

Shaw’s English questions say the elective rotation, if accepted, is free of charge, and that housing, meals, and transport are yours. Insurance is optional on that page. Another Zhejiang hospital may charge. Do not treat Shaw’s sentence as a city-wide rule.

Will I give medications or take patients?

No such permission is printed. The elective is described as observation and study, with an instructor. Anything beyond that has to be in the hospital’s acceptance letter. This guide does not add clinical privileges.

Does HSK 5 at 180 apply to nursing?

It applies to Chinese-taught master’s programmes on the SHUTCM 2026 prospectus. It is not printed on the nursing line of the education page. English-taught master’s study on that prospectus has no minimum Chinese and does set TOEFL or IELTS for non-native speakers.

Does a nursing visit count toward my licence?

Only if the body that licenses you says it does. Shaw can write an evaluation to your school’s form. That letter is not, by itself, registration in China or at home.

Are the 2026 degree windows still open?

The master’s window of 1 December 2025 to 15 May 2026 had closed by 29 October 2026. We did not open a separate 2026 nursing bachelor prospectus, so we cannot say that a nursing bachelor window exists.

Can DragonTrail arrange a nursing placement?

No. We do not hold nursing weeks. Guidance can help you read the hospital’s own rules and decide whether a degree or a visit is the real question. The hospital still has to say yes.

Compare study routes, or tell us the credential, the teaching language, and whether a home school must nominate you. Neither button admits you to a medical school, confirms a hospital, or licenses you to practice.
