Dentistry Study

Dentistry study in China, as far as the pages opened for this review, is not a fee we can quote and not a chair DragonTrail can book. The English degree list at 上海中医药大学 does not name a dentistry bachelor. A Zhejiang University elective page does name a dental hospital and a coordinator. Writing to that coordinator is a request until the hospital answers.

Information checked 29 October 2026 (Asia/Shanghai).

No stomatology prospectus with a tuition line was opened on 29 October 2026. The Zhejiang University School of Medicine elective page was on an http address, so it is described here and not linked in the source list. DragonTrail has no dental school seats and no confirmed dental clinic weeks. Nothing on this page authorises you to treat a patient.

At a Glance

Degree feeNot printed on the pages we opened. The English education list at 上海中医药大学 names TCM, nursing, pharmacy, and public-health-related degrees. It does not name dentistry. Do not borrow the CNY 42,000 acupuncture fee or the RMB 75,000 MBBS fee for a dental degree.
Elective contactThe Zhejiang University elective page names a Dental Hospital and a coordinator, Ms. Chen Xiaoyi, phone 86-571-87217216, email blankie@zju.edu.cn. That is the school’s printed contact. It is not a DragonTrail partner.
Who may askThe same Zhejiang page says foreign medical students may apply for at most twelve weeks, and to allow at least six months. A dental interest does not skip that file.
What the file containsTranscript, a letter from the dean or a senior student-affairs officer, a CV, a letter of intent, and the visiting-student form. After acceptance, the student pays expenses and insurance and applies for the visa. The school provides an acceptance letter.
SRRSH limit邵逸夫医院’s elective text does not name dentistry. It excludes pediatrics and speaks of observation and rotations in a chosen department. Do not assume a dental chair is inside that sentence.
ObservationUntil a host letter lists the tasks, assume you may not examine or treat. Being in the same teaching programme as local students, which one SRRSH sentence says, is not a licence.
LanguageNot set for dentistry on the pages we opened. Do not copy the MBBS English scores or the HSK 5 line onto a dental file unless the dental school prints them.
RecognitionA dental qualification, if you earn one, is still subject to the dental council where you want to work. This page does not grant that.
Lead timeSix months on the Zhejiang elective instruction. Shorter notice is not something we can promise the hospital will accept.

No Dental Tuition Was on the Pages We Opened

People searching for dentistry study usually want a yearly fee, a city, and a chair. The honest result of this review is narrower. The English education page at 上海中医药大学 lists bachelor degrees in traditional Chinese medicine, acupuncture and tuina, clinical integrative medicine, Chinese materia medica, a China-UK pharmaceutical science programme, rehabilitation, nursing, and others. Dentistry and stomatology are not in that list. The six-year English clinical medicine prospectus at 上海交通大学医学院 is not a dental degree either. Using either fee for dentistry would invent an invoice.

The footer of the SHUTCM education page carries a 2017 copyright. The 2026 acupuncture prospectus is newer and still does not create a dental programme. If a dental school has published a 2026 international fee since then, it was not among the URLs that opened for this cluster. Leave the cell blank. A blank is more useful than a borrowed number, because a borrowed number sends the wrong bank transfer.

A Named Dental Hospital Is Still a Request

The Zhejiang University School of Medicine clinical elective page says it offers electives for partner-school students and for students who apply on their own, across seven clinical sites. One site is the Dental Hospital, with the coordinator named above. Partner students are told to go through the home-school coordinator. Self-applicants are told to read the site page and write to the hospital coordinator. Failure to finish the visiting-student process means the request is denied. Twelve weeks is the maximum the page states for foreign medical students at the affiliated hospitals. Six months is the planning time it asks for.

That page’s address is http, and the source list on this cluster only links https pages, so the dental email is quoted from the page we opened and the link is omitted. Quote the email carefully when you write: it is blankie@zju.edu.cn on that page. A reply, if one comes, is the hospital’s. DragonTrail is not copied on it and cannot turn silence into an acceptance. The page also says that once you are accepted you need personal funds for all expenses, you buy the insurance, and you apply for the visa. “Accepted” is their word, after their process, not before.

Do Not Fold Dentistry Into the Shaw Hospital Elective

邵逸夫医院 is a real teaching hospital with a public elective, and it is the wrong assumption for a dental chair. Its English elective page says it can take foreign medical students for clinical observation and rotations of at least two weeks and less than three months, in major specialties except pediatrics, with an English-speaking attending physician as instructor. Dentistry is not named. The training questions add nurses, pharmacists, and other healthcare workers near the end of their degree. A dental student near the end of training might fit the phrase “other healthcare,” and might not. Only the hospital can say. We will not say it for them.

The fee contrast matters if someone answers you. Shaw’s English questions say an accepted elective rotation is free of charge, with housing, meals, and transport still yours. The Zhejiang University school-level page says the student covers any and all expenses. Those sentences come from different pages and different sites. A dental hospital inside the Zhejiang list is not automatically free because Shaw’s rotation can be free. Ask the dental coordinator what, if anything, is charged. Do not average the two policies.

Observation Is the Boundary Until a Letter Says More

Dental training is hands-on in ordinary speech, which is exactly why this page will not promise hands-on time. Unrestricted patient contact is not something a study guide should advertise, and none of the pages we opened grant it. Shaw’s elective uses “observation and study” and also says participants join the same programme as other students in the department. Hold both sentences. The second does not erase the first, and neither is a registration with a dental council.

If your home school requires a signed evaluation, Shaw says it will write an evaluation based on the school’s requirements after the period. That is an evaluation of a visit, not a dental licence and not a credit promise. Credit, if any, is what your home school agrees to accept. Zhejiang’s page says it provides an acceptance letter after you are in, which you then use for the visa. The letter is not issued by DragonTrail.

Papers to Prepare Before You Ask

For a Zhejiang elective request, prepare the transcript, the dean’s letter, the CV, the letter of intent, and the form, and send them as the page instructs, to the coordinator or to the school addresses it also prints: rockygwl@zju.edu.cn and global_zusm@zju.edu.cn, with the school at 866 Yuhangtang Road, Hangzhou. Those emails are on the http page we opened. They are not a DragonTrail inbox. For a degree, you do not yet have a document list from a dental prospectus in this review, so do not assemble the MBBS stack — CSCA physics and chemistry, RMB 75,000, six years — and call it dentistry.

A no-criminal-record paper, a physical examination, and a passport appear on the degree files we did open for medicine and TCM. A dental school may ask for the same class of paper and may ask for something else, such as proof of hepatitis status or a clinic log. Until its list is in front of you, extra medical papers are guesses. Guesses do not belong in an application.

Where to Go Next If You Are Not Sure

If you wanted a full clinical degree and landed here because “medicine” and “dentistry” share a search, read the MBBS page and keep the fees on that page. If you wanted a short hospital period, read the elective page and still write to the dental coordinator rather than to a general inbox we invented. If you wanted to know whether a Chinese dental degree lets you register at home, read the recognition page and then ask your dental council. This page cannot answer that with a yes.

DragonTrail’s guidance form can take the question “degree or visit, and which mouth-related skill.” It cannot put you in a clinic in Hangzhou next month. Six months is the lead time the Zhejiang page already asks for, and even that is only the time to finish a file, not a yes.

Sources

These pages were read on 29 October 2026 (Asia/Shanghai). Tuition, language rules, and application windows change, and the 2026 windows on the school pages had already closed. A CUCAS card is CUCAS’s listing. The World Directory of Medical Schools did not return a directory page. The Campus China address named in a scholarship paragraph did not open. A hospital email printed by a university is that university’s contact. It is not a placement DragonTrail has confirmed, and it is not permission to examine a patient.

FAQ

How much is dentistry tuition in China?

We did not open a dentistry prospectus that prints a fee. The CNY 42,000 acupuncture bachelor fee and the RMB 75,000 MBBS fee belong to those programmes. Using them for dentistry would be a guess. Ask the dental school for its own international fee sheet.

Is the Zhejiang dental hospital a DragonTrail partner?

No. The elective page published by Zhejiang University School of Medicine names the Dental Hospital and a coordinator. That is the university’s contact. A message there is your request. We do not hold dates and we do not mark the hospital as ours.

Can a dental student do an elective at Sir Run Run Shaw Hospital?

The hospital’s page does not name dentistry. It takes final-year medical students and, for other healthcare students, people near the end of the degree, for observation and rotations except pediatrics. Whether a dental student fits is the hospital’s decision after you apply. We will not predict it.

Will I treat patients on a dental elective?

Not on the strength of this page. The texts we opened speak of observation, study, and an application that can be denied. Patient contact, if any later letter allows it, is limited to what that letter says. Unsupervised treatment is not on offer.

How long can the Zhejiang elective be?

The school page says foreign medical students may apply for a maximum of twelve weeks and should allow at least six months to complete the process. Shaw’s own window, if you are accepted there for a non-dental rotation, is two weeks to three months. Do not mix the two clocks.

Which visa does a dental elective use?

The Zhejiang page says you apply for the visa after acceptance, and that the school provides the acceptance letter. It does not name X1 or X2 on that page. The X1 and X2 rules we did read are on the 上海交通大学医学院 visa page and apply to students of that school. Ask the host which letter you will actually receive.

Does a Chinese dental degree let me practise at home?

This page cannot say yes. Registration is decided by the dental regulator in the place you want to work. WFME recognition of WCAME until June 2030 is about medical-education accreditation in China, not a personal dental licence.

What should I send DragonTrail?

Say whether you want a degree or a short visit, your year of dental training, and whether your school must nominate you. Do not send patient histories. The reply will not be an acceptance from a dental hospital.

Compare study routes, or tell us the credential, the teaching language, and whether a home school must nominate you. Neither button admits you to a medical school, confirms a hospital, or licenses you to practice.
