Who Can Study in China

Who can study in China is a school decision, a guardian question if the student is under 18, and a 180-day visa split. It is not one DragonTrail age policy, and this page does not enroll anyone.

Information checked 29 October 2026 (Asia/Shanghai).

Opened on 29 October 2026: 教育部、外交部、公安部令第42号, the 北京语言大学 undergraduate age line, and 清华大学经济管理学院’s 2027 master’s window. Not opened: provincial primary-school rules, any camp roster, and any DragonTrail intake. Passed deadlines stay passed.

What We Do Not DoDragonTrail does not set an age, name a guardian, or publish a start date.

Who This Route Fits

Who Can Study in China is for a reader who needs the map before choosing a child, a teenager, a degree applicant, or a short visitor. The map has three desks: the national order, a named university page, and the consulate. DragonTrail does not enroll this reader and does not set an age or a start date.

Read alongside that fit, Who Can Study in China still has to obey the office that printed the limit below. Article 9 lists degree study as junior college, bachelor’s, master’s, and doctoral, and non-degree study as preparatory, advanced students, and research scholars. Article 12 says the school checks qualifications and financial support, may test the applicant, and decides admission. Someone who misses the school’s conditions is not admitted. DragonTrail is not that office.

  • Start with who the person is, then the school’s page, then the visa length.
  • Do not treat this hub as a camp list or a degree catalog.

What the Printed Rules Say

The rule that actually constrains Who Can Study in China is narrower than a brochure. 令第42号 lets a higher-education school set its own conditions and refuse anyone who misses them. Under 18, with parents living outside China, Article 38 requires a formal guardian in China. That is a statutory guardian line, not a DragonTrail age cutoff. A line from a different office is not copied onto this reader.

Where Who Can Study in China cites a number, the number stops at the page it came from. Article 38 says that if a student is under 18 and the parents do not live in China, the parents must formally entrust a foreigner or a Chinese citizen who does live in China as guardian and must provide the proof. A short-term group needs an agreement with the foreign sending unit. For a primary or secondary school, that unit must finish the minor’s exit paperwork under its own law and must send a person who acts as guardian during the study. DragonTrail does not sign that agreement.

  • Article 38 is a guardian requirement, not a product age band.
  • Provincial rules for primary and secondary schools were not opened.

Time and the Visa Split

The clock for Who Can Study in China is the stay length and the school’s own window, not a season label. Short study is at most 180 days and long study is longer, on both the order and the Sweden embassy note dated 2026/10/12. 北京语言大学’s March 2026 and June 2026 deadlines had passed. 清华大学’s round 1 was still printed as open through 15 December 2026. A date that has already passed stays passed.

Timing on Who Can Study in China does not create an intake DragonTrail can open. Article 45 of 教育部、外交部、公安部令第42号 counts short study as no more than 180 days, including the 180th day, and long study as more than 180 days. The Sweden embassy note dated 2026/10/12 uses the same split for an X2 visa and an X1 visa. An X1 holder applies for a residence permit within 30 days of entry. The consular officer decides the category. A season name does not.

  • Mark 12 January 2026 and 30 June 2026 as passed.
  • 清华大学 round 1 was a 2027 master’s application window, not a class date.

Fees That Belong to a School

Money on Who Can Study in China is whatever the named school printed in RMB, if it printed anything. 北京语言大学 prints an 800 RMB application fee and sample undergraduate tuition of 25,800 to 39,000 RMB a year. 清华大学 prints 800 RMB to apply, then 198,000 RMB for a Master of Finance or 30,000 RMB a year for Master in Management. Those are school prices. DragonTrail does not add a fee of its own.

Any yuan figure named for Who Can Study in China stays on the school’s list. Article 14 says a higher-education school publishes its fee items, standards, and refund rules, and prices them in RMB. Article 40 requires the insurance the state and the school demand. Someone who does not insure in time is not admitted. Someone already studying who does not insure is withdrawn or not registered. The order prints no premium. DragonTrail does not add a rate card.

  • Quote a fee only with the school’s name and the program beside it.
  • Article 40 requires insurance. The order does not print the premium.

Papers and Who Decides

Papers for Who Can Study in China come from the school and, if a visa is needed, from the consulate. An X1 file is an admission letter plus JW201 or JW202. An X2 file is an admission notice, plus form DQ if it applies. A guardian proof is whatever the school asks under Article 38. DragonTrail holds none of these. This site does not issue either document.

Documents discussed for Who Can Study in China are examples of what an office asked for, not a pack we issue. 北京语言大学’s international undergraduate page prints ages 18 to 55, and under 18 it asks for the school’s consent plus a guardianship notary. Starred majors can start in March or September. Other majors are September only. The March 2026 deadline is printed as 12 January 2026. The English page also prints a September 2025 label with a deadline of 30 June 2026. On 29 October 2026 both dates had passed. The application fee there is 800 RMB and is not refundable.

  • X1 and X2 are the study categories on the Sweden note. The post decides.
  • A family visit visa is not an admission letter.
