Study Programs for University Students
Study programs for university students in China are degree or non-degree categories a higher-education school publishes and then applies. DragonTrail does not hold a university seat or set a language score.
Information checked 29 October 2026 (Asia/Shanghai).
Opened: Article 9 and Article 12 of 令第42号, 北京语言大学’s undergraduate rules including CSCA from fall 2026, and 清华大学经济管理学院’s 2027 master’s page, which wants a bachelor’s degree before registration. A student still finishing a bachelor’s is not that master’s desk yet.
At a Glance
| Who This Is For | A current or incoming bachelor’s student comparing a Chinese university’s own file with a master’s file. |
|---|---|
| Who Should Look Elsewhere | A working graduate who already holds a degree and wants the 2027 master’s window. Use the graduates route. |
| Clock | Beijing Language and Culture University’s 2026 undergraduate deadlines had passed. Tsinghua round 1 was a 2027 master’s application. |
| Money | Quote 25,800 or 198,000 RMB only for the program that printed it. No DragonTrail tuition. |
| Who Decides | The university admits. CSCA and HSK bars are that university’s extras. The consulate stamps the visa. |
| Papers | Admission letter, JW form when the stay is long, plus the test scores that one university listed. |
| Easy to Mix Up | A bachelor’s student browsing a master’s deadline is not yet eligible for a page that requires the degree in hand before registration. |
| Worked Example | A second-year student can read 清华大学’s dates and still be outside round 1 until the bachelor’s degree exists. |
| What We Do Not Do | DragonTrail does not submit the application or promise a language exemption. |
Who This Route Fits
Study Programs for University Students is for someone already in a bachelor’s program, or about to start one, who needs the difference between a Chinese university’s own undergraduate file and a master’s file that demands a completed degree. DragonTrail does not enroll this reader and does not set an age or a start date.
Read alongside that fit, Study Programs for University Students still has to obey the office that printed the limit below. Article 9 lists degree study as junior college, bachelor’s, master’s, and doctoral, and non-degree study as preparatory, advanced students, and research scholars. Article 12 says the school checks qualifications and financial support, may test the applicant, and decides admission. Someone who misses the school’s conditions is not admitted. DragonTrail is not that office.
- Match the person to a degree category before a city.
- Non-degree study is a different Article 9 label.
What the Printed Rules Say
The rule that actually constrains Study Programs for University Students is narrower than a brochure. Article 9 names bachelor’s study as one degree category and preparatory or advanced study as non-degree. The school writes the conditions. 北京语言大学’s undergraduate page adds its own age band, HSK or English scores by major, and CSCA results from fall 2026. Those extras are that university’s, not a national student-visa rule. A line from a different office is not copied onto this reader.
Where Study Programs for University Students cites a number, the number stops at the page it came from. From fall 2026, 北京语言大学 requires Chinese Standardized Competency Assessment results for international undergraduate applicants and does not print a score cut on the page that was read. Sample tuition there is 25,800, 27,600, or 39,000 RMB a year by program. HSK lines differ by major, including HSK 4 at 180 and HSK 5 at 180 or 200. Those bars are not one language rule for every learner.
- CSCA is 北京语言大学’s fall 2026 undergraduate requirement, not every school’s.
- HSK cuts on that page differ by major.
Time and the Visa Split
The clock for Study Programs for University Students is the stay length and the school’s own window, not a season label. 北京语言大学’s printed 2026 undergraduate deadlines had passed by 29 October 2026. 清华大学’s round 1 for 2027 master’s programs was still printed as open through 15 December 2026, but only for people who will hold a bachelor’s degree before registration. A current second-year student does not yet meet that sentence. A date that has already passed stays passed.
Timing on Study Programs for University Students does not create an intake DragonTrail can open. 北京语言大学’s international undergraduate page prints ages 18 to 55, and under 18 it asks for the school’s consent plus a guardianship notary. Starred majors can start in March or September. Other majors are September only. The March 2026 deadline is printed as 12 January 2026. The English page also prints a September 2025 label with a deadline of 30 June 2026. On 29 October 2026 both dates had passed. The application fee there is 800 RMB and is not refundable.
- A passed 2026 undergraduate deadline is not a rolling intake.
- Round 1 at 清华大学 is for 2027 master’s applicants.
Fees That Belong to a School
Money on Study Programs for University Students is whatever the named school printed in RMB, if it printed anything. 北京语言大学 prints 800 RMB to apply and sample tuition of 25,800, 27,600, or 39,000 RMB a year. 清华大学 prints 800 RMB to apply, 198,000 RMB for the Master of Finance, and 30,000 RMB a year for Master in Management. A student who is not on that page should not be quoted those yuan. DragonTrail does not add a fee of its own.
Any yuan figure named for Study Programs for University Students stays on the school’s list. 清华大学经济管理学院’s 2027 pre-experience master’s page, released September 2026, requires a bachelor’s degree or an equivalent before registration. The final deadline is 26 February 2027 at 17:00 China Standard Time. Round 1 runs through 15 December 2026 at 17:00. On 29 October 2026 that round had not closed. Round 2 starts 1 January 2027 at 08:00. A Shenzhen finance third round runs from 27 February 2027 to 15 May 2027. The application fee is 800 RMB and is not refundable. This is a degree window, not a DragonTrail intake.
- Keep Master of Finance tuition off an undergraduate budget.
- The 800 RMB application fee is not refundable on either university page that printed it.
Papers and Who Decides
Papers for Study Programs for University Students come from the school and, if a visa is needed, from the consulate. Degree files need the school’s admission letter and, for study over 180 days, JW201 or JW202 on the Sweden note. Transcripts and HSK or English scores are whatever that school listed. CSCA is what 北京语言大学 added for its own undergraduates from fall 2026. This site does not issue either document.
Documents discussed for Study Programs for University Students are examples of what an office asked for, not a pack we issue. Article 14 says a higher-education school publishes its fee items, standards, and refund rules, and prices them in RMB. Article 40 requires the insurance the state and the school demand. Someone who does not insure in time is not admitted. Someone already studying who does not insure is withdrawn or not registered. The order prints no premium. DragonTrail does not add a rate card.
- JW201 or JW202 appears with X1, not as a document DragonTrail prints.
- A transcript request goes to the student’s current university.
What to Do Next
The useful next step after Study Programs for University Students is a question to the school, then a look at the neighboring routes. Graduates who already hold the degree should use Study Programs for Graduates. Dates for a semester, rather than a degree, sit on Semester-Length Study Options. Neither button on this page reserves a seat.
Before acting on Study Programs for University Students, keep the following boundary in view. Article 45 of 教育部、外交部、公安部令第42号 counts short study as no more than 180 days, including the 180th day, and long study as more than 180 days. The Sweden embassy note dated 2026/10/12 uses the same split for an X2 visa and an X1 visa. An X1 holder applies for a residence permit within 30 days of entry. The consular officer decides the category. A season name does not.
- Switch to the graduates page once the degree is actually in hand.
- This page does not file the application.

These pages were read on 29 October 2026 (Asia/Shanghai). An age line, a fee, and an application window belong to the office named in the link. If a date has passed, the page says so. None of this is a DragonTrail age rule, an intake, or a seat, and none of it is legal advice.

Articles 9, 12, 14, 30, 35, 36, 38, 39, 40, and 45 are this order. Fees, if a school charges them, are that school’s RMB items. — retrieved 29 October 2026 (Asia/Shanghai)
- 北京语言大学 international undergraduate entry page. Age printed there: 18 to 55. Under 18 needs the school’s consent and a guardianship notary. Starred majors: March and September entry. Other majors: September only. March 2026 deadline printed as 12 January 2026. The English page also prints “If enrolled in September 2025, deadline of application: JUNE 30, 2026,” which mixes a 2025 label with a 2026 date. Both of those dates had passed on the read date. Application fee 800 RMB, non-refundable. Sample tuition on that page: 25,800, 27,600, or 39,000 RMB a year, by program. From the Fall Semester of 2026, undergraduate international applicants must submit CSCA results. This is 北京语言大学’s desk, not a DragonTrail rule. — retrieved 29 October 2026 (Asia/Shanghai)

Tuition: Master of Finance 198,000 RMB for the full program; Master in Management 30,000 RMB a year; Columbia dual degree, Tsinghua phase, 30,000 RMB a year. Insurance 800 RMB a year. Beijing dorms: 40 RMB a bed a day for a double, 30 RMB for a triple. The page’s TOEFL line for the Columbia track prints both “5.5” and “100,” so 5.5 is not treated here as a confirmed TOEFL score. - Embassy of the People’s Republic of China in Sweden — Instructions for Applying for a Visa, page date 2026/10/12. X1 is study for more than 180 days and asks for an admission letter plus JW201 or JW202, then a residence permit within 30 days of entry. X2 is study for no more than 180 days and asks for an admission notice, plus form DQ if it applies. F is exchanges, visits, study tours, and other activities, and it needs an invitation with the visitor’s identity, dates, places, funds, and the inviter’s stamp and signature. The consular officer decides the category. The procedure on this note is the Sweden post, not a rule this page copies onto every embassy. — retrieved 29 October 2026 (Asia/Shanghai)
