Orthopedic Care: Visit Planning
Tell us how you will move on the day: walking, crutches, or a wheelchair. That is the travel problem. The bone and joint decision belongs to the surgeon.
DragonTrail coordinates travel and logistics. We do not provide medical care.
This category is not a diagnosis. It does not say that a test, a treatment, or a trip is appropriate. The provider decides that.
Purpose of the visit
Use this category for a consult or a procedure an orthopedic provider has agreed to discuss. Repeat therapy sessions after that belong on the rehabilitation page, not as a second copy of this one.
Questions for the provider
Ask the provider. These are not answers from DragonTrail.
- Is this a consult, imaging, or a procedure, and which days?
- Will I be able to bear weight afterward, according to you?
- Do you require an escort for discharge?
- Which earlier films should I carry?
- Are stairs at the hotel a problem for the days you have in mind?
Institutional access
Orthopedic departments are common inside general hospitals. We have not verified international intake at the named hospitals, and we do not rank joint or spine programs.
Verification pending: which hospitals will see an international visitor for this purpose. The hospital directory is not a ranking and not a list of partners.
Papers and preparation
Do not attach full medical records in the first note to DragonTrail. The provider says which papers they want, and in which language. Record translation is a separate coordination task.
- The images the surgeon asks for, on the media they name.
- A note of the walking aid you use now, so the car and the hotel can match it.
- A companion’s name if discharge requires one.
Travel considerations
The transfer must fit the way you actually move. A sedan is the wrong default if you cannot bend. Ask for lodging without a long stair at the entrance, and do not stack a walking tour on a procedure day. We do not set weight-bearing rules.
