Primary School Study Trips
Primary school study trips in China are short-term groups of children, not a week you can reserve. Article 38 requires a signed agreement and a person who acts as guardian. DragonTrail does not sign that paper and does not name a primary school.
Information checked 29 October 2026 (Asia/Shanghai).
No primary school in China confirmed a classroom, a homestay, or a fee. Confirm the applicable provincial requirements, school fees, and supervision arrangements with the receiving school. There is no DragonTrail rate.
At a Glance
| Who this is for | Teachers and heads planning a primary class visit. Not a checkout for a school week. |
|---|---|
| Clock | Short-term in the order is no more than 180 days. The agreement comes before travel. F invitations should name dates, places, and each person the consulate asks about. |
| Money | No DragonTrail price. University RMB fee rules are not copied onto a primary trip. Confirm the applicable provincial requirements, school fees, and supervision arrangements with the receiving school. |
| Who decides | The Chinese school and your sending unit sign. A consulate stamps visas. DragonTrail does not sign either paper or appoint the guardian. |
| Papers | The Article 38 agreement, the sending unit’s minor-exit papers, a traveling guardian, passports, and an invitation if the category is a study tour. |
| Outcome | A plan with ages, aims, and visits marked unconfirmed. Not a reserved classroom and not a grade. |
| Easy to mix up | Using a university insurance clause, or a chaperone ratio, as if the ministry had printed it for 初等 schools. |
| Worked example | A district asks one Chinese primary school for an agreement and names the adult who will be guardian. Until that school signs, the week is a draft. |
| What we do not do | DragonTrail does not reserve a primary classroom, price a lunch, or confirm that a museum will open. |
A Primary Class Is Still a 团组
A class of primary pupils from another country becomes a short-term 团组 only after a Chinese school and the foreign sending unit sign an agreement. Article 38 of the 2017 order is that sentence. A picture book, a teacher’s wish, or a sample week is not the signature. Article 45 counts short-term as no more than 180 days, including the 180th day. DragonTrail cannot sign for the Chinese school or for your district. If the agreement is missing, the children are still at the planning stage, and no classroom is held.
初等 Schools Follow Provincial Rules
Article 2 says chapters 2 through 5 govern higher-education schools. Preschool, primary, and secondary schools follow provincial rules for recruitment, teaching, and on-campus management. Article 5 gives that policy work to provincial education departments. A fee list, an insurance clause, or an hour cap written for a university is not automatically the rule for a grade-school visit. Confirm the applicable local requirements with the receiving institution. Confirm current requirements and availability directly with the relevant institution.
The Guardian Travels With the Children
For a primary or secondary receiving school, the sending unit must finish the minor’s exit paperwork required by its own country, and it must send a person who acts as guardian during the study. A pupil under 18 whose parents do not live in China also needs a formally entrusted guardian. Those are two sentences, and neither prints a ratio such as one adult per eight children. Your district may set a stricter number. Confirm current requirements and availability directly with the relevant institution.
Study Tours Ask for an F Invitation
The Chinese embassy in Sweden, on a page dated 2026/10/12, describes F as exchanges, visits, study tours, and other activities. The invitation should name the child, the purpose, the dates, the places, the link to the inviter, the source of funds, and the inviter’s name, phone, address, stamp, and signature. A class of twenty may be asked for those fields person by person. We cannot stamp the letter. A consulate decides the category. This page does not say every primary trip is F, and it does not choose another sticker either.
Younger Pupils and Campus Limits
Article 26 says schools generally do not organize military training or political activities for international students. Article 29 says a school must not provide a religious venue, and it limits proselytizing and religious gatherings on campus. Read those limits before you plan a worship stop or a political program on a campus. Whether a primary school is inside those articles, or inside applicable provincial requirements, is a question for that school. We will not waive either sentence because the pupils are young.
Confirm the Receiving Primary School
No primary-school visit, museum booking, or neighborhood activity is confirmed here. A city mentioned in an example elsewhere in the cluster is a setting for planning, not a request. The 2021 work-study measures apply to degree-teaching higher-education schools and do not describe a class of children. Do not borrow their hour caps for a primary week. DragonTrail has no homestay list, no lunch price, and no confirmed gate time. The honest status is unconfirmed until a host writes yes.

These pages were read on 29 October 2026 (Asia/Shanghai). A fee, an hour cap, and an application window belong to the office named in the link. If a date has passed, or a line on a visa note looks incomplete, the page says so. None of this is a placement or a group visit DragonTrail can reserve, and none of it is legal advice.

FAQ
Can I reserve a primary school in China on this page?
No. Article 38 requires an agreement between the Chinese school and your sending unit before a short-term group is accepted. DragonTrail does not sign that agreement and has no primary-school host.
What chaperone ratio applies to primary pupils?
No ratio was printed in the cited order. The sending unit must send a person who acts as guardian, and a child under 18 whose parents are not in China needs a formally entrusted guardian. Your district may be stricter.
Do university fee rules apply to a primary trip?
Chapters 2 through 5 govern higher-education schools. Confirm the applicable provincial requirements, school fees, and supervision arrangements with the receiving school. Do not copy a university RMB list onto a grade-school visit.
Which visa does a primary study tour use?
The Sweden note dated 2026/10/12 describes F for exchanges, visits, and study tours, and it lists invitation fields. A consulate decides. This page does not choose the category.
Does work-study hour language cover a primary class?
No. The 2021 measures apply to higher-education schools that teach degree programs. They do not describe a class of children, and their hour caps should not be borrowed.
Are sample weeks bookings?
No. Any sample week in this cluster is an example. No primary school, museum, or neighborhood has been asked, and none is confirmed.
Who completes the children’s exit paperwork?
Article 38 says the foreign sending unit completes the minor-exit paperwork required by its own country and sends a guardian for the study. DragonTrail does not file that paperwork.
What should we collect before we talk about dates?
Ages, the sending unit’s authority to sign, the name of the adult who would be guardian, and whether any Chinese primary school has agreed in writing. Dates without that agreement are still a wish.
