Middle School Study Trips

Middle school study trips in China are secondary-school groups with mixed ages, not a product you can buy. The class stays one 团组. DragonTrail does not split the younger pupils off, and it does not hold a campus.

Information checked 29 October 2026 (Asia/Shanghai).

No middle school confirmed a visit. Confirm the applicable provincial requirements, school fees, and supervision arrangements with the receiving school. Article 38 still asks for an agreement and an accompanying guardian. No ratio and no DragonTrail price are stated.

Who this is forMiddle-school leaders planning one class trip. Mixed ages stay in one plan until a school and a consulate say otherwise.
ClockA short visit is still judged against the 180-day line if it is study. The agreement comes first. No start date is published here.
MoneyNo DragonTrail group rate. Do not copy a university RMB list onto a middle-school week. Confirm the applicable provincial requirements, school fees, and supervision arrangements with the receiving school.
Who decidesYour sending unit and the Chinese school sign. The consulate stamps. DragonTrail does not appoint the guardian.
PapersAgreement, minor-exit papers, guardian appointment, passports, and an invitation if the trip is a study tour.
OutcomeOne plan for the whole class, with visits marked unconfirmed. Not two products and not a reserved campus.
Easy to mix upSplitting 18-year-olds off the 团组, or borrowing work-study hour caps for a class that is not in higher education.
Worked exampleA grade of 30 asks one Chinese middle school for an agreement and names the teacher the district appoints as guardian.
What we do not doDragonTrail does not set a ratio, hold a dorm, or confirm a middle-school gate.

Middle School Is 中等, Not a Split Rule

A middle-school class is secondary education, so chapters 2 through 5 of the 2017 order, which govern 高等学校, are not the chapter you paste onto the trip. Article 2 sends preschool, primary, and secondary schools to provincial rules. Article 5 is the provincial policy job. Confirm the applicable local requirements with the receiving institution. A middle-school week therefore does not inherit a university’s published fee table or the 2021 work-study hour caps. Those caps are for degree-teaching higher-education schools and their own students.

Ages in One Class Do Not Make Two Trips

A middle-school roster often mixes pupils under 18 with a few who have turned 18. Article 38 still speaks to primary and secondary groups as a 团组, and it tells the sending unit to send a person who acts as guardian during the study. Turning one birthday does not let you run two permissions on one bus, one for minors and one for adults, unless the receiving school and the consulate each say so in writing. We will not design that split. Keep one agreement and one guardian plan.

The Sending Unit Still Appoints a Guardian

The foreign sending unit completes its own country’s minor-exit paperwork and sends the guardian. Separately, a student under 18 whose parents do not live in China needs a formally entrusted guardian. A teacher who happens to be on the trip is that person only if the sending unit appoints them. DragonTrail does not appoint teachers, and it does not count heads to invent a ratio. If your board wants one adult for every ten students, that number is yours. It is not a sentence in the cited order.

A Ten-Day Visit Stays Inside 180 Days

Article 45 defines short-term study as no more than 180 days, including the 180th day, and long-term as more than 180. A ten-day middle-school visit sits inside the short side of that line if it is study. The Sweden note dated 2026/10/12 describes F for exchanges, visits, and study tours, and X2 for study of no more than 180 days when the paper is an admission notice. Which description matches a class that is not enrolled is a consulate question. We will not pick F or X2 for you.

Learning Aims Before Any Campus Name

Write what the pupils will practice: language, a museum method, a science observation. Then ask one named Chinese school whether it can host. Article 20’s 教学实习 and 社会实践 sit in the higher-education teaching plan, so do not cite that article as the lesson plan for a middle school. Article 26 and Article 29 limit military training, political activities, and religious activity on campus in the cited order. Ask the host which of those limits it applies. No campus name on this page has been asked.

No Middle School Ratio Was Printed

People expect a ministry ratio and a sample timetable with real schools. Neither was in the cited sources. The Sweden invitation fields still matter: identity, purpose, dates, places, relationship, source of funds, and the inviter’s name, phone, address, stamp, and signature. A group of thirty needs those fields for the people the consulate asks about. DragonTrail cannot stamp the letter, price the week, or confirm a canteen. The status of every middle-school visit on this site is unconfirmed.

These pages were read on 29 October 2026 (Asia/Shanghai). A fee, an hour cap, and an application window belong to the office named in the link. If a date has passed, or a line on a visa note looks incomplete, the page says so. None of this is a placement or a group visit DragonTrail can reserve, and none of it is legal advice.

FAQ

Can younger and older middle-school pupils travel as two groups?

Not on our say-so. Article 38 treats a primary or secondary short-term group as one 团组 with a guardian. A split needs the receiving school and the consulate, in writing. We will not design it.

Is there an official chaperone ratio for middle schools?

No ratio was printed in the cited order. The sending unit sends a guardian and finishes its own country’s minor-exit paperwork. A stricter number from your board is yours, not ours.

Do work-study rules limit a middle-school day?

No. Those 2021 measures cover students at degree-teaching higher-education schools. A middle-school class is outside that page, so the 8-hour and 16-hour caps are not your timetable.

Is a ten-day trip short-term?

If it is study, Article 45 calls short-term no more than 180 days, including the 180th day. Ten days sits inside that count. The visa category is still the consulate’s decision.

Which invitation fields matter?

The Sweden note asks for identity, purpose, dates, places, the link to the inviter, the source of funds, and the inviter’s name, phone, address, stamp, and signature. We cannot sign that letter.

Can you name a middle school that will host?

No. No middle school was asked. A campus is unconfirmed until that school writes yes, and DragonTrail does not sign the Article 38 agreement.

Does Article 20 set our lesson plan?

Article 20 is 教学实习 and 社会实践 under a higher-education teaching plan. It is the wrong citation for a middle-school syllabus. Write your own aims, then ask a host.

Is there a middle-school price?

No DragonTrail price exists. Confirm the applicable provincial requirements, school fees, and supervision arrangements with the receiving school. Ask the school for an itemized quote covering meals, accommodation, and tuition.
