Group Costing and Included Services
Group costing for study travel in China is a structure of costs, not a price list. DragonTrail has no rate card. A higher-education school that charges students publishes its own items in RMB. Nothing below is included until a host writes it.
Information checked 29 October 2026 (Asia/Shanghai).
No DragonTrail group rate, discount, or complimentary leader place exists. Article 14 tells a higher-education school to publish fee items, standards, and refund rules in RMB. Article 40 requires insurance and prints no premium. Visa fees were not on the cited Sweden note. Flights and hotels were not quoted.
At a Glance
| Who this is for | Finance officers and leaders building a budget. The table is categories, not a quote. |
|---|---|
| Clock | Price the trip only after a host and a consulate have stated their own charges. No date is tied to a fare. |
| Money | No DragonTrail rate card. School fees in RMB are the school’s published list. Insurance and visa fees were not numbered here. |
| Who decides | Each supplier prices its own line. DragonTrail does not bundle them and does not offer a free leader place. |
| Papers | A spreadsheet with blank amounts, plus the host’s fee list if one exists, and the consulate’s visa charge once they state it. |
| Outcome | A budget a board can see is incomplete on purpose. Not an invoice and not an included-services package. |
| Easy to mix up | Filling a blank with a remembered visa fee, or promising that meals and flights are included. |
| Worked example | A bursar lists eight categories, writes “not priced here” on each, and adds a number only when the office that charges has published it. |
| What we do not do | DragonTrail does not quote a group, discount a leader, or assume a scholarship amount. |
Costs Are Categories, Not a Rate Card
Build a budget as lines, each marked “not priced here.” The lines are international flights, the visa fee the consulate charges, insurance, a school’s published RMB items if it enrolls anyone, housing, meals, local transport, the travel cost of accompanying adults, museum or event tickets, and a contingency. DragonTrail does not fill those lines. A sample week is not a way to imply a bundled fare. Confirm current requirements and availability directly with the relevant institution.
School Fees in RMB Are the School’s List
Article 14 says a higher-education school publishes what it charges and how refunds work, in RMB. Request current fees and any funding terms directly from the provider; no amount is confirmed here. Confirm the applicable provincial requirements, school fees, and supervision arrangements with the receiving school. Do not copy a university line onto a grade-school trip. Refund rules, when they exist, are the school’s rules, not a promise from DragonTrail.
Flights, Housing, and Meals Are Separate Until Written
No airline, hotel, or canteen was asked. Housing that a university mentions for its own students is that university’s housing office, not a group block. Meals are included only if the host’s written offer says so. Local transport, including airport transfers and a bus for the 团组, is its own line. Tickets to a museum or a match are their own line. A sentence in an example itinerary that says “museum” does not buy the ticket.
Request current fees and any funding terms directly from the provider; no amount is confirmed here.
The Sweden embassy page dated 2026/10/12 names categories and papers. It did not, in the text we used, give a fee. Do not copy a fee from memory onto the budget as if it came from that note. The consulate that takes the passport is the office that states the charge. X1, X2, F, M, and Z can differ. We will not estimate. The cited Z reminder’s “000 days” is not a fee and not a length of stay.
| Flights | Not priced here. Airfares stay blank until a ticket is bought from an airline or agent. |
|---|---|
| Visa fee | Not priced here. Request current fees and any funding terms directly from the provider; no amount is confirmed here. Ask the consulate. |
| Insurance | Required by Article 40 when a school admits international students. No premium was printed. |
| School RMB items | Only if a higher-education school enrolls students and publishes the items. Not a DragonTrail tuition. |
| Housing and meals | Separate until a host’s written offer includes them. No hotel and no meal plan was quoted. |
| Accompanying adults | Their flights, beds, and meals are their own lines. A free leader place is not offered. |
| Tickets and contingency | Museum, event, and local transport tickets are separate. Keep a contingency. No amount is set here. |
| DragonTrail rate | None. No group discount and no bundled “from” price. |
Leader Places Are Not Free by Default
A complimentary seat for a teacher is a commercial promise. We do not make it. The leader’s costs sit on their own lines. If the leader is paid to work on the ground, their visa question may be Z rather than the students’ study tour, and a work-permit notification is on the Sweden lists. Hiding the leader inside a student headcount does not remove that question and does not create a discount. The 2021 work-study pay rules are for enrolled students’ spare-time jobs, not a way to pay your chaperone.
No Discount and No Single Price
There is no group discount, no seasonal special, and no single figure that “includes everything.” Article 32 says Chinese Government Scholarship exists and that the state sets the rules. Request current fees and any funding terms directly from the provider; no amount is confirmed here. Compare routes on the study programs page if you are still choosing a type of study. Request Guidance if you want to talk about categories. Neither button sends an invoice.

These pages were read on 29 October 2026 (Asia/Shanghai). A fee, an hour cap, and an application window belong to the office named in the link. If a date has passed, or a line on a visa note looks incomplete, the page says so. None of this is a placement or a group visit DragonTrail can reserve, and none of it is legal advice.

- Embassy of the People’s Republic of China in Sweden — Instructions for Applying for a Visa, page date 2026/10/12. Category lines for F, X1, X2, and Z, and the invitation fields for an F visa, are this note. The embassy decides the category. The Z reminder, as fetched, prints “000 days”; that is not a stay length used here. — retrieved 29 October 2026 (Asia/Shanghai)

FAQ
Do you publish a group rate?
No. There is no rate card, no “from” price, and no group discount. The table on this page is a list of categories with amounts left blank.
Are meals and flights included?
No. They are separate lines until a written offer from a host or a carrier includes them. An example itinerary does not buy a ticket.
What does Article 14 require?
A higher-education school publishes its fee items, standards, and refund rules, in RMB. Confirm the applicable local requirements with the receiving institution.
How much is the visa?
Unknown on this page. The Sweden note dated 2026/10/12 did not print a fee in the text we used. Ask the consulate. Do not reuse a remembered number.
How much is insurance?
Article 40 requires it for international students a school admits and prints no premium. Ask that school which policy it accepts.
Is the group leader free?
No. A free leader place is not offered. The leader’s travel is its own cost, and paid work on the ground may be a Z question rather than a student category.
Can a scholarship clear the budget?
Article 32 says Chinese Government Scholarship exists and the state sets the rules. Request current fees and any funding terms directly from the provider; no amount is confirmed here. Do not subtract a guess.
Will Request Guidance send an invoice?
No. It does not set a price, reserve a hotel, or sign a school fee. Find a Suitable Program only compares study routes.
