Business and Finance Internships
Business and finance internships in China are not a roster you can scroll. Request current fees and any funding terms directly from the provider; no amount is confirmed here. A trade visit and a job are different embassy categories.

DragonTrail has no finance host. The Sweden note dated 2026/10/12 describes M as commercial and trade activities, with papers from a trade partner, and Z as work, with a work-permit notification. Article 30 forbids 经商, doing business, during study. Those sentences do not add up to a summer analyst seat.

Confirm the Host Before Planning Travel
This page does not name a bank, an insurer, a fund, a factory finance team, or a startup. No employer placement is confirmed here. There is no application link, no class of 2026 cohort, and no housing. If a school later confirms a finance placement inside its teaching plan, that confirmation belongs to the school. Obtain written confirmation before making travel arrangements.
Trade Papers Are Not an Internship
The Sweden note’s M category is for commercial and trade activities. It asks for documents from a trade partner in China, or a fair invitation. The invitation fields include purpose, dates, places, the relationship, and the source of funds, plus the inviter’s stamp. A trade-fair badge is not a finance internship. An F invitation, for exchanges and study tours, is a third paper. We will not tell you to pick M or F.
Doing Business Is Forbidden During Study
Article 30 says an international student may join 勤工助学 but must not take employment, 经商, or other commercial activity. A student who trades on a personal account, or who is sent to “do deals” for a firm, is in the territory that sentence forbids. Spare-time work-study, where it applies, is capped and must be organized by the school. It is not a license to join a trading floor.
Hours Will Not Stretch to a Desk Job
Even for a student the 2021 measures cover, the cap is generally 8 hours a week and 40 a month in term, or 16 and 80 in a vacation. A finance internship advertised as full time does not fit inside those numbers. Off campus, the one-year enrollment line, age 18, and more than six months left on a study residence document still apply, and the exit-entry office must annotate the permit within ten days.
Fees Stay in RMB on the School’s List
Article 14 says a higher-education school publishes fee items and standards in RMB, including refund rules. Confirm the applicable local requirements with the receiving institution. There is no DragonTrail day rate, no “program plus internship” bundle, and no success fee. If someone quotes you a yuan figure for a finance placement, ask which school’s published list it came from. If they cannot, treat the figure as unsupported.
Outcomes You Should Not Put on a CV Yet
Do not write a company name, a deal, or a modeling project on a CV from this page. Nothing here confirms you sat with a team. Article 21’s certificates are academic documents from a school, not a reference letter from a bank. Ask a real host, when you have one, for the supervisor’s name and a one-paragraph description of duties before you travel. Until then the honest line is that no business internship is confirmed.

Which banks can I intern with?

Is a trade fair an internship?
The Sweden note treats commercial and trade activities as an M visa matter, with papers from a trade partner. A fair badge is not a semester inside a finance team and not a work permit.
Can a student trade or “do business” on the side?
Article 30 forbids 经商 and other commercial activity during study, alongside employment. 勤工助学 is the narrower allowance, and it is capped and school-run.
Will the work-study cap cover a full-time finance summer?
No. The cap is generally 8 hours a week in term and 16 in a vacation, for students the measures cover. A full-time desk is outside those numbers.
Is there a DragonTrail fee for a finance placement?
No. There is no rate card. Article 14 puts fee lists on the school, in RMB. If a seller quotes a placement price, ask which published school list it copies.
Can I put a firm on my CV after reading this page?
No. This page confirms no supervisor and no duties. A CV line needs a host that has actually accepted you. We do not write that letter.
What is the difference between M and Z for a business visit?
On the Sweden note, M is commercial and trade activity and Z is work. An internship that is really a job leans toward Z and a work-permit notification. The embassy, not this page, decides.
What should I ask before I travel for a finance month?
Ask the host to name the supervisor, the hours, whether you are paid, and which visa paper they will sign. If the host is a school, ask whether the month is in the teaching plan. Silence means no.
