Usually yes, if you have enough time and meet the visa or visa-free transit requirements. We can help you judge whether your layover is realistic before you book.

Which Shanghai airport do you pick up from?

We can plan from both Shanghai Pudong Airport (PVG) and Shanghai Hongqiao Airport (SHA). PVG is farther from the city but has the Maglev option. SHA is closer to central Shanghai.

How long of a layover do I need?

For a very short city glimpse, 6–8 hours may work if airport timing is favorable. For a better Shanghai experience, 8–12 hours is more comfortable. For a fuller route with food and multiple stops, 12–16 hours is better.

What can I see on a short Shanghai layover?

For short layovers, we usually focus on the Bund, Pudong skyline, and one nearby food or photo stop. This avoids overloading the route.

Is this private or shared?

Private only. Your vehicle, your timing, your route.

Can I take the Maglev?

Yes, if it fits your timing and luggage situation. For some PVG layovers, the Maglev can be included as part of the experience, but a private vehicle is usually easier if you want luggage storage and flexible routing.

Can I visit Shanghai Tower?

Yes, if your layover is long enough and ticket timing works. For shorter layovers, we usually recommend outside skyline views instead of spending too much time entering a paid observation deck.

What if my flight is delayed?

Send us your updated landing time. We adjust the route if possible. If the delay makes the city visit unsafe, we recommend protecting your onward flight instead of rushing.
