Bachelor Degree Programs
A bachelor’s degree program in China is 本科 study at a university that agrees to enroll you, usually after high school, and the degree is that university’s. Peking University’s 2026 brochure for applicants who skip the written exam is the dated example here. The tuition line on it was still blank, and the application rounds had closed.
Information checked 29 October 2026 (Asia/Shanghai).
DragonTrail has no bachelor’s tuition and no intake. The 800 RMB application fee is Peking University’s and is non-refundable. The brochure says tuition will be announced after approval. We will not invent the number. The age window and the two rounds below belong to September 2026 entry and had already passed when we checked on 29 October 2026.
At a Glance
| Credential | A graduation certificate if you finish the plan and the thesis defense, and a bachelor’s degree only if you also meet the degree rules. Peking University states both steps. |
|---|---|
| Length and language | Four to six years on that 2026 brochure, with Chinese as the medium of instruction. English-taught master’s programs are a different page and a different fee. |
| Who may apply | Non-Chinese citizens with a high-school diploma, aged 18 to 25 on the brochure’s count (born from 1 September 2001 to 1 September 2008), for that September 2026 entry. |
| Application fee | 800 RMB, paid online after you submit, non-refundable. Unpaid files are not processed. |
| Tuition | “Further notice will be given after approval.” Payment, once announced, is online, UnionPay, or RMB cash. There is no DragonTrail bachelor’s price to put in the blank. |
| 2026 rounds, closed | Round one: 12:00 on 19 December 2025 to 23:59 on 28 February 2026. Round two: 12:00 on 12 June 2026 to 23:59 on 10 July 2026. Beijing time. One round only. |
| Scholarship test | The brochure requires CSCA, on Chinese papers, for Chinese Government Scholarship applicants. It does not say every self-funded bachelor’s applicant sits that test. |
| Chinese for a Type A bachelor’s | A separate Type A note says Chinese-taught undergraduates should have HSK 6 above 210, or a matching level, or else consider the 预科 year. |
| DragonTrail | No file submission and no promise that a closed round will reopen. The next brochure replaces this one. |
What the Bachelor’s Paper Is
Bachelor degree programs in China end, when they end successfully, in the university’s own certificates. Peking University’s 2026 undergraduate brochure says the study period for international students is four to six years, taught in Chinese. Students who complete the training plan and pass the thesis defense receive a graduation certificate. Students who also meet the degree requirements receive a bachelor’s degree. Those are two sentences on purpose. Finishing classes is not automatically the 学士.
The same brochure describes a university with seven faculties and, in its words, 11 disciplinary categories, 51 undergraduate major categories, and 137 undergraduate majors. That is Peking University describing itself, not a national count of bachelor’s programs, and not a list DragonTrail can enroll you in. You may apply to only one undergraduate program at a time on that route. Health Science Center applicants are told to use the Health Science Center’s own brochure. Associate Degree Programs is the three-year diploma if that is the paper you actually need.
Who the Brochure Counts as an International Applicant
The 2026 written-exam-exempt brochure says applicants must be non-Chinese citizens with a valid foreign passport, in good health, with a high-school diploma, and in principle between 18 and 25, calculated from 1 September 2001 to 1 September 2008. That birth window is for September 2026 entry. A later intake can move the dates. Do not tell a younger student they are permanently ineligible, and do not tell a student born in that window that the 2026 round is still open.
Nationality is a legal check, not a passport photo. The brochure follows the Ministry of Education’s 2020 notice: applicants born abroad to a Chinese parent generally need that parent’s foreign permanent residence before the birth, plus two years of actual residence abroad in the four years before 30 April of the enrollment year. Applicants who emigrated from the mainland, Hong Kong, Macao, or Taiwan must have held the foreign nationality before 30 April 2022 on this brochure’s clock, with the same two-year residence test from 30 April 2022 to 30 April 2026. Nine months in a year counts as a year, using entry and exit stamps. Public security can be asked to confirm a doubtful case. The Chinese text of the brochure prevails if the English disagrees.
How the 2026 Round Worked, and Why It Is Closed
The path without a written exam is for applicants whose international or national standardized scores already meet Peking University’s bar, so they can go to a second-round assessment. The online system opened in two windows, and each applicant could use only one. The first ran from 19 December 2025 to 28 February 2026. The second ran from 12 June 2026 to 10 July 2026. The university then reviewed files, held the second assessment between mid-March and mid-July 2026, and said pre-admission followed only if that assessment was passed. Admission documents were to go out from June 2026 for registration in September 2026. Checked on 29 October 2026, that cycle is over.
The application fee was 800 RMB, non-refundable, and files without it were not processed. Tuition was explicitly postponed: further notice after approval. Anyone who fills that blank with a number from a master’s PDF, a 预科 semester, or another university is inventing a fee. Materials had to be in Chinese or English, or translated and notarized, and the final admitted student had to bring originals to registration. False documents cancel the application, the admission, or the enrollment. Foundation and Pre-University Programs is the route the same office recommends when the Chinese score is not yet high enough. It is not a back door into this closed round.
Scholarships, CSCA, and What They Do Not Replace
Chinese Government Scholarship applicants on this brochure must take the China Scholastic Competency Assessment and submit a valid score. The tests are on Chinese papers. Science, information, and engineering faculties need Chinese, mathematics for science, and at least one of physics or chemistry. Other faculties need Chinese and mathematics for humanities. The brochure points to csca.cn for dates. It attaches that test to the scholarship path. It does not say that every self-funded bachelor’s applicant must sit CSCA. Embassy notices for the 2026/2027 scholarship also required CSCA for bachelor’s candidates, with sittings they listed on 21 December 2025 and 25 January 2026. Those sittings have passed.
The scholarship is not the admission. Type A candidates apply through the home dispatching authority and on the scholarship portal, with Peking University as the first choice, and still have to pass the university’s review and interview before pre-admission. A Beijing municipal scholarship or a Peking University scholarship, for students the school selects, can mean full or partial tuition, housing, insurance, or a stipend, depending on the type the brochure lists. Recipients join an annual review. None of that creates a fee where the brochure said tuition was awaiting approval. Cost of Studying should be read after the university publishes the self-funded number.
Insurance, Housing, and the Visa the Brochure Names
Students must buy the comprehensive insurance plan for international students before registration. The brochure says students without that insurance are not allowed to register, and it points to the plan’s site. Except for scholarships that include housing, students arrange and pay for their own rooms. The university has dormitories that can be reserved. Students who live off campus must register the address with the local public security bureau within 24 hours of moving in. Those are arrival rules, not optional tips, and they are Peking University’s wording for its own students.
The visa line is an X1, applied for with the admission letter and the JW201 or JW202 form at a Chinese embassy or consulate, then converted to a study residence permit within 30 days of entry. That matches the long-stay pattern in the Beijing municipal guide. A consular officer still decides. DragonTrail does not issue the JW form and does not book the dormitory. If your file was for September 2026 and you did not receive admission documents, this page cannot reopen the round. Wait for the next brochure and read the tuition sentence before you pay the next 800 RMB.
What To Compare Before You Choose a Bachelor’s
Compare the teaching language, the length, the certificate, the city you can afford, and the fee that is actually printed. A Chinese-taught bachelor’s at Peking University is not Fudan’s English-taught postgraduate band, and it is not Xi’an Jiaotong-Liverpool University’s 99,000 RMB undergraduate year. League labels do not choose the classroom. Universities and Schools keeps 985, 211, 双一流, and the C9 alliance as glossary. How To Choose a University in China is where a publisher ranking can be read with its method, without becoming our order of merit.
Bring your home authority into the decision if you need the bachelor’s recognized for a profession or a later degree. Order No. 42 says the Chinese university registers the student status and the graduation certificate. It does not say a foreign licensing board must accept them. Ask that board with the curriculum. DragonTrail can help you line the brochure up against your constraint. We cannot sit the second assessment, and we cannot guess the tuition the university has not approved.

FAQ
Does DragonTrail sell bachelor’s places in China?
No. Peking University admits its own undergraduates. This page records what its 2026 brochure said, including a tuition line that was still waiting for approval. Find a Suitable Program does not submit your file. The next intake is a new brochure, not a seat we hold.
How much is bachelor’s tuition at Peking University?
The 2026 brochure we read said further notice would be given after approval. The application fee was 800 RMB and non-refundable. We will not copy a master’s total, a 预科 semester fee, or another university’s undergraduate price into that blank.
Are the 2026 application rounds still open?
No. They closed on 28 February 2026 and 10 July 2026, Beijing time, and each applicant could use only one round. Registration was described for September 2026. Checked on 29 October 2026, that entry has passed. Use the next notice’s dates.
Do I have to take the CSCA exam?
On this brochure, CSCA is required for Chinese Government Scholarship applicants, on Chinese papers, with subjects that depend on the faculty. The page does not say every self-funded applicant must take it. Embassy scholarship notices for bachelor’s candidates also required a score. Read the path you are actually using.
Is the program taught in English?
The undergraduate brochure says Chinese is the medium of instruction. A Type A note points Chinese-taught bachelor’s applicants toward HSK 6 above 210, or the preparatory year. English-taught degrees at the same university are graduate programs with their own fees. Do not mix the two.
What if one of my parents is a Chinese citizen?
The brochure applies the ministry’s nationality rule, including foreign permanent residence and two years of actual overseas stay in a defined four-year window, counted from entry and exit stamps. The university can ask public security to confirm nationality. Read the Chinese text if you are unsure, because the brochure says the Chinese version wins.
Does a graduation certificate include the bachelor’s degree?
Not by itself. The brochure separates the graduation certificate, after the plan and the thesis defense, from the bachelor’s degree, which has additional requirements. Ask the university which document a particular outcome produces before you assume both.
What should I watch on the next brochure?
The tuition sentence, the birth-date window, the language score, whether CSCA is only for scholarship applicants, the insurance rule, and the fee’s refund line. Pay 800 RMB only after those sentences are current. Send us the link if you want a second reading. We still cannot admit you.
