Natural sciences in China, for an international bachelor’s, means the science major a university lists, taught on that university’s rules. 北京师范大学’s 2026 international brochure prices science, engineering, and arts at 27,700 RMB a year and teaches the bachelor’s in Chinese for four years. Physics, chemistry, and geographical science are on the catalog. The online window closed on 15 March 2026.

DragonTrail has no science laboratory to offer and no national science fee. Psychology’s extra rule, an 80 percent average in high-school mathematics and physics, is on the BNU catalog and is not a rule for every science major. China Agricultural University names Biology among first-class discipline labels. That sentence is not an open 2027 major row. The 2027 major rows sit in a spreadsheet the HTML does not print. We will not type them from memory.

CSCA	Required. The brochure says the catalog lists subjects per major. We will not guess physics versus chemistry papers for a row whose cells were hard to read. Upload the report after scores exist.
Age and passport	18 to 40, born after 31 August 1986. Under 18 on 1 September 2026, a guardian in China. Passport valid beyond 31 March 2027. Nationality follows 教外函〔2020〕12号, including the two-year residence test where it applies.

A Science Degree Is a Catalog Row

Natural sciences in China is an English umbrella. Admissions offices do not enroll “natural sciences” as a single product on the pages we read. They enroll Physics, Chemistry, Geographical Science, and, under its own rules, Psychology. Beijing Normal University’s 2026 catalog is the dated list. The brochure says there are 40 majors for international undergraduates and sends you to that catalog for the row. The bachelor’s is four years, in Chinese. Completing it is the university’s graduation rule, not a DragonTrail certificate.

The money splits in two bands. Humanities and social sciences are 12,400 RMB a semester and 24,000 RMB a year. Science, engineering, and arts are 14,250 RMB a semester and 27,700 RMB a year. Physics, chemistry, and psychology sit on the science side of that sentence, and the catalog print we could read shows 27,700 near psychology and the science block. If a later PDF moves chemistry into another price, believe the PDF. Do not average the two bands into one “science in China” number. Mathematics and Statistics uses the same brochure and is not repeated as if it were chemistry.

Psychology Adds a High-School Average

The Faculty of Psychology row is the strict one. Besides HSK 5 at 180, the catalog says the mathematics and physics average on the high-school transcript must reach 80 percent or above. Both courses must be on the transcript. Other courses may not be substituted. CSCA includes Chinese for science. The award is a science degree. That 80 percent line is not printed, in the extract we read, on the plain Physics or Chemistry rows. Do not make every science applicant meet a psychology rule, and do not let a psychology applicant ignore it because a friend applied to chemistry.

Geographical Science is a cluster: physical geography and resources and environment, human geography and urban-rural planning, geographical information science, and natural resources and environmental science. The catalog groups them. It does not, in the HTML we could read cleanly, give each subfield a private tuition. Use the science band unless the row says otherwise. Environment as a BNU engineering major is a different page on this site, because the School of Environment lists environmental engineering as well as environmental science. Do not file a geography interest against an engineering row by accident.

The 2026 Cycle Is Closed

Online filing ran from 15 November 2025 to 15 March 2026, China Standard Time. Paper originals go out after the initial review, by EMS, SF, DHL, FedEx, or UPS, or the office stops the file. The personal statement is handwritten in Chinese. A typed page is refused. The application fee is 500 RMB, online, and not refundable. CSCA is the written exam the brochure names, with subjects from the catalog, followed by a BNU interview. Two majors, two interviews. From June 2026 the office notifies results. Beijing dormitory booking ran from 09:00 on 1 July 2026 to 12:00 on 15 August 2026. On 29 October 2026 every one of those clocks has finished.

A closed brochure is still useful. It tells you the shape of the last public ask: HSK date not earlier than 1 November 2023, passport not expiring before 31 March 2027, age 18 to 40 with birth after 31 August 1986, and the ministry residence test where a parent is Chinese or the applicant naturalised. The Chinese text of the brochure prevails if the English disagrees. None of that reopens March. Wait for the next notice on admission-is.bnu.edu.cn. The mailing address on the 2026 file was A103, Main Building, 19 Xinjiekouwai Street, Haidian, Beijing 100875, bk@bnu.edu.cn.

A First-Class Label Is Not a Seat

China Agricultural University’s 2027 English notice, posted 3 September 2026, says that since 2021 the university and nine subjects, including Biology, have been in the second stage of what it calls first-class universities and disciplines. Biology in that sentence is a discipline label beside Agricultural Engineering, Food Science, Crop Science, and others. The majors actually offered to international undergraduates this round are in a spreadsheet, 2027年度来华留学生本科生招生专业信息1015.xlsx. The HTML does not list them. We will not invent a biology major code from the label.

What the HTML does price is one international undergraduate tuition: 20,000 RMB a year, plus 400 RMB to apply, 800 RMB insurance, and a shared room from 1,000 to 1,600 RMB a month. Chinese is HSK 5, not the 2026 notice’s HSK 4, except that veterinary medicine still asks for 250 on HSK 5. Applications run from 1 November 2026 to 31 May 2027. On 29 October 2026 that window had not opened. CSCA passing score on this notice is 50 points a subject. That is an agriculture university’s rule. It is not BNU’s science band, and it is not a DragonTrail science package. Agriculture and Food Science reads the same notice for the food and crop labels.

Visa, Insurance, and What Not To Claim

BNU’s brochure tells admitted students to apply for an X1 visa with the printed admission notice and the JW201 or JW202 form, then follow the international office. Students may not hold enrollment at two institutions. False materials can cancel admission or student status. Off-campus housing is registered with the police within 24 hours. Scholarship names on the brochure include a BNU new-student award, a Silk Road award, the Beijing government scholarship, the Chinese Government Scholarship via campuschina.org, and the International Chinese Language Teachers Scholarship via cis.chinese.cn. None of those is awarded on this page.

We will not call BNU or CAU the best place for physics or biology. The brochures use 985, 211, and 双一流 as labels. Universities and Schools keeps that glossary. A ranking sentence in a brochure is the university’s marketing, not our order. Tsinghua’s English engineering route is a different product at 100,000 RMB a year and is not a natural-science major list. If your goal is mathematics rather than a laboratory science, use the mathematics page so the School of Mathematical Sciences row is not buried here.

What the Next Science Notice Must Show

The major name, the band of 27,700 or its replacement, the HSK floor, the CSCA subjects for that row, and any extra transcript rule like psychology’s 80 percent. Then the refund line on the 500 RMB fee and the handwritten-statement rule, if it survives. Bring the catalog PDF, not a cropped screenshot that hides the fee cell. Geographical subfields should be read as the catalog groups them, not as four tuitions we did not see.

Do I need HSK if I want an English-taught science degree?

The BNU brochure we used teaches the bachelor’s in Chinese and asks for HSK 5 at 180 outside two Chinese-teaching majors. An English-taught science degree would be a different university’s page. We did not price one in this note.

What should I send for a second reading?

The next catalog row, the fee band, and the CSCA subjects for that major. We will not rank universities, and we will not submit the handwritten statement.
