The Undergraduate Law File Has Closed

Law and legal studies in China, at bachelor’s level, is the BNU Law School row on the 2026 international catalog. The award is a law degree. The brochure says international bachelor’s programs last four years and are taught in Chinese. HSK 5 at 180 is required outside two Chinese-teaching majors, and Law is not those majors. The HSK date cannot be earlier than 1 November 2023. CSCA subjects come from the catalog. We will not invent whether Law asks for humanities Chinese, mathematics, or both, if the cell was hard to read. Open the PDF.

The online window was 15 November 2025 to 15 March 2026. The fee was 500 RMB and is not refundable. The personal statement is handwritten in Chinese. Paper originals follow the initial review or the office stops. Results were notified from June 2026. Beijing dorm booking ended on 15 August 2026. On 29 October 2026 this is a closed cycle. The Chinese text of the brochure prevails. Nationality rules follow 教外函〔2020〕12号, including the residence stamps where a parent is Chinese. A closed cycle still shows the shape of the last ask. It does not accept a new file.

Why the Bachelor’s Fee Is a Band, Not a Quote

The brochure is explicit about two prices: 24,000 RMB a year for humanities and social sciences, and 27,700 RMB a year for science, engineering, and arts. Law is often assumed to be humanities. Assumption is not the catalog cell. In the HTML we opened, the Law row did not present a number as cleanly as Musicology’s 27,700 or Physical Education’s 24,000. So this page refuses to choose. If your PDF shows 24,000 on Law, use the PDF. If it shows something else, use that. Do not import UIBE’s 123,280, which is a two-year master’s total, into a four-year bachelor’s.

Scholarships on the BNU brochure are separate applications: the university’s new-student award, the Silk Road award, the Beijing government scholarship, the Chinese Government Scholarship, and the International Chinese Language Teachers Scholarship. None of them rewrites the fee cell before you are awarded. Cost of Studying should wait until the cell is known, then add a room you have actually been offered. The Zhuhai 7,500 RMB dorm figure is for Zhuhai arrangements, not a Haidian law dorm.

The English Master’s That Does Name a Price

UIBE’s English master’s page lists International Law and prices the ILLM at 123,280 RMB for two years. The credit price is 2,680 RMB. The semester lines are 53,600, then 53,600, then 16,080, which is a third semester inside a “two academic years” heading. Add them. They match the headline. That third line is why you should not assume two equal payments. The page also names WTO Law and Economics without giving it this total. The residual other-majors price is 99,160 RMB for two years. MWLE belongs there until it receives its own sticker.

The file is a bachelor’s degree, health, English at TOEFL 86 or IELTS 6.0 or a GRE or GMAT the page accepts, two references, a guarantor’s ID, photos, a criminal-record certificate, and an asset note that can cover tuition. English-taught graduate courses have no entrance examination. The admissions office checks the paper and the school admits. That is not a promise of a place. Application fee 660 RMB. A Degree Page Is Not a License Page

Nothing we read says an international student may sit a Chinese bar, join a Chinese firm as an advocate, or carry the degree home as a professional qualification. Those rules live with the ministry of justice, the bar, and your home authority. Bring them the curriculum. A clinic, a moot, or a semester in a court office may be part of teaching and still not be the license. DragonTrail does not give legal advice on this page and does not place interns.

Chinese law and comparative law and WTO law are different syllabi. The ILLM’s name is international law. BNU’s bachelor’s name is Law. BLCU’s table we opened does not list a law degree in the extract used here. Do not borrow a language-university fee and call it law. International Relations and Public Policy is where UIBE’s international relations and public-administration prices sit, so a policy degree is not smuggled in as a law degree.

Calendars That Do Not Match

BNU’s bachelor’s calendar is finished. UIBE’s master’s calendar says 20 October to 31 December and 20 March to 30 June, each year, without a cohort name. On 29 October 2026 the first range includes today and still might be a stale template. Read the form. Paying 660 RMB because a blog said “law is open” is how the ILLM and the undergraduate Law row get confused. They do not share a form.

Admission documents, visas, and JW forms follow the university that admits you. BNU’s brochure describes an X1 with the admission notice and JW201 or JW202, and it forbids simultaneous enrollment at two schools. False papers can cancel status. UIBE’s page does not repeat that visa paragraph in the fee section we used. Use the admission pack you actually receive. We do not issue it. Insurance and a dorm rate for the ILLM were not in the tuition block. Leave them blank until the pack arrives.

How To Choose Without a Ranking

Choose the level first. A high-school leaver who needs a first law degree was, in 2026, looking at a Chinese-taught BNU file that is now closed, with the fee cell still to be read on the PDF. A graduate who needs an English-taught international-law master’s is looking at the ILLM total of 123,280 RMB for two years, with a third semester payment inside it. A reader who needs WTO law and economics must not pay the ILLM price unless the form says ILLM. Universities and Schools holds 985 and 双一流 as glossary. BNU’s brochure uses those labels about itself. We do not turn them into a league table of law schools.

Send the catalog cell or the ILLM form if you want the arithmetic checked: 53,600 plus 53,600 plus 16,080. We can add. We cannot assess your chances, we cannot write a reference, and we cannot tell a bar association what to accept. How To Apply is document order only. The next BNU law notice replaces the closed one. Until it exists, do not mail a file to A103, Main Building, 19 Xinjiekouwai Street, as if March were still open.
