Engineering in China
An engineering degree in China is the university’s own bachelor’s, not a seat DragonTrail can hold. The dated example is 清华大学 Zijing College (紫荆书院) and its 2027 Global Talents in Science and Engineering guide, posted 24 September 2026. Instructions are in English, the length is four academic years, and tuition on that page is 100,000 RMB a year.
Information checked 29 October 2026 (Asia/Shanghai).
DragonTrail has no engineering intake and no engineering price. The 800 RMB application fee is Tsinghua’s and is not refundable. Accommodation is a residential-college booking on another Tsinghua page, so this note does not invent a dorm number. On 29 October 2026 the first 2027 round was still inside its printed window. It ends at 17:00 on 20 November 2026, Beijing time, and a later edit of the guide replaces these sentences.

What This Engineering Brochure Actually Admits
Engineering in China starts as a question about a diploma, not about a league table. The Zijing guide says students who finish the courses, pass the assessments, and pass the final thesis defense receive a bachelor’s degree from Tsinghua University. It also says you may leave with a Bachelor of Engineering in Interdisciplinary Engineering, or with a Bachelor of Engineering in a traditional major, if you meet the requirements of that major. Those are two outcomes on one page. A lab visit, a summer workshop, or a company tour is not either of them. Computer Science in China is a different major name at a different university, with a different fee.
The same guide lists the training it expects you to recognize: information science and technology, mechanical engineering, civil engineering, and design science, and then a longer set that includes electrical engineering and automation, electronic information science and technology, measurement and control, vehicle engineering, traffic engineering, architecture, urban planning, and landscape architecture. That list is Tsinghua describing this program. It is not a national catalogue of engineering majors, and it is not a list DragonTrail enrolls. If your home authority needs the words “civil engineering” or “vehicle engineering” on the parchment, ask the admissions office which of the two degree sentences produces that wording. We will not guess.
English Instruction, and the Bar the Guide Does Not Number
The 2027 engineering guide says all instructions are in English. Tsinghua’s separate eligibility note for English-taught programs says proof of Chinese is not required, and that applicants whose native language is not English must provide an official English test such as TOEFL or IELTS. This engineering page repeats the English test and does not print a cutoff. Do not borrow a 6.0 or an 86 from 对外经济贸易大学. That score belongs to UIBE’s English-taught catalogue, which we cite on the economics and finance pages, not here.
Chinese-taught engineering at the same university is a different product. The FAQ says international undergraduates otherwise study with Chinese students, except for courses open only to international students, and that fully English undergraduate routes are a short named list. This Zijing program is on that list. A department flyer that says “some courses are bilingual” is not this guide. If you need HSK for a scholarship or for a later Chinese-taught transfer, that rule will be on the scholarship page or the next brochure, not in the English-proficiency sentence we read.
Who the Guide Counts as an International Applicant
Applicants must be foreign nationals under the Nationality Law of the People’s Republic of China, holding a valid foreign passport or other proof of foreign nationality at the time of application. The guide points to Tsinghua’s own 2027 nationality instructions and to Document No. 12 (2020) of the Ministry of Education, 教外函〔2020〕12号. The high-school certificate must come from full-time, in-person study. Health is described as good physical and mental health, with goodwill toward China. Age is 18 or above by 1 September 2027. Younger applicants must present a guardian guarantee in China, and supporting documents, at registration.
Academic proof is a bundle, not a single score. The guide accepts transcripts in Chinese or English, a national or regional graduation exam, international tests it lists as examples (CSCA, SAT, ACT, A-Level, AP, IB, and others), and, if you have them, olympiad awards in mathematics, physics, chemistry, biology, or informatics. None of those examples is printed as a minimum. Originals are checked more than once. If the passport story or the documents fail that check at any point, the guide says the applicant is ineligible and the process stops. DragonTrail cannot repair a nationality file. Read the Chinese rules on the ministry notice if a parent is a Chinese citizen.
The Window That Was Still Open on 29 October 2026
Round one runs from 08:00 on 30 September 2026 to 17:00 on 20 November 2026, Beijing time, with results by January 2027. Round two runs from 08:00 on 21 November 2026 to 17:00 on 28 February 2027, with results by early May 2027. Checked on 29 October 2026, round one had not reached its printed end. That is a fact about a clock, not an invitation from us, and not a promise the university will keep the hour. The application fee is 800 RMB, paid online, and the guide says it is not refundable. Submit only when the PDF still shows the same window.
Admission documents, for people Tsinghua admits, are described as going out in June 2027. The comprehensive assessment’s method and time are “informed in advance,” which means they are not on this page. There is a freshman scholarship for the first academic year, full tuition, half tuition, or partial tuition, funded from donations the university says it seeks. Recipients may not hold another scholarship of the same type. Later years can be a Beijing government scholarship or another Tsinghua award, under the university’s own review. A scholarship sentence is not a fee reduction you can book with us. Cost of Studying is where housing and daily spend sit after you have this tuition line.
Insurance, Housing, and What the Guide Leaves to Another Office
Medical insurance on the engineering guide is 800 RMB per year. The note says it covers basic accidental injury and medical expenses for hospitalization. It does not describe outpatient care, dental care, or a family policy. Zijing is a residential college. Students live in designated buildings, reserve online in a designated period, and are told that room availability follows the booking system. The fee for that room is not in the tuition table. The guide sends you to the Tsinghua International Student and Scholar Center for accommodation figures. We will not fill that blank with Beijing Normal University’s dorm clock or with China Agricultural University’s 1,000 to 1,600 RMB a month.
The guide does not, on the pages we used for this subject, walk through the X1 visa in its own engineering section. Other universities’ 2026 and 2027 notices do: an admission letter plus a JW form, then a residence permit within 30 days. Use the notice that belongs to the university that admits you. Tsinghua’s admissions office publishes the phone +86-10-62783100 and admissions@tsinghua.edu.cn. Zijing’s own mail is zijsy@mail.tsinghua.edu.cn. Those inboxes are the university’s. DragonTrail does not issue the JW form, does not reserve the residence, and does not sit the comprehensive assessment.
How To Compare an Engineering Offer Without a Ranking
Compare the teaching language, the degree sentence, the city you can pay for, and the fee that is actually printed. One hundred thousand RMB a year at Tsinghua is not 27,700 RMB a year for a science or engineering major on Beijing Normal University’s 2026 international brochure, and it is not 20,000 RMB a year on China Agricultural University’s 2027 international notice. League words such as 双一流, 985, and 211 are glossary on Universities and Schools. They do not choose the classroom, and they do not make a closed round reopen. The FAQ’s line that some English-taught programs exist is a list, not an order of merit.
Bring your home authority in if the bachelor’s must be recognized for a profession or a later degree. The Chinese university decides its own diploma. A foreign engineering council decides whether that diploma and this curriculum meet its rules. Ask with the course list, not with a city reputation. If the 20 November window has passed by the time you read this, wait for the next guide rather than paying 800 RMB against an old PDF. Send us the link if you want a second reading of the fee line and the degree sentence. We still cannot admit you.

FAQ
Does DragonTrail sell engineering places in China?
No. Tsinghua admits its own Zijing engineering students. This page records the 2027 guide we read on 29 October 2026, including a first round that was still inside its printed dates. Find a Suitable Program does not submit your file.
How much is tuition on the engineering guide we read?
The 2027 Zijing science and engineering guide prints 100,000 RMB per year, an 800 RMB application fee that is not refundable, and 800 RMB a year for the medical insurance it describes. Accommodation is not in that table.
Was the application still open on 29 October 2026?
Round one was inside the window printed on the page: it runs until 17:00 on 20 November 2026, Beijing time. Round two is printed from 21 November 2026 to 28 February 2027. Check the live page before you pay. The hour can change.
Is this engineering program taught in English?
The guide says all instructions are in English, and the English-taught eligibility note does not ask for Chinese proficiency. It does ask for an English test if English is not your native language. It does not print a minimum score.
Does the diploma say interdisciplinary engineering?
The guide says you may receive a Bachelor of Engineering in Interdisciplinary Engineering, or a Bachelor of Engineering in a traditional major, if you meet that major’s requirements. Ask which sentence applies to the track you want before you treat the list of fields as the parchment.
Do I have to take the CSCA exam for this program?
CSCA appears as one example of academic evidence, alongside SAT, ACT, A-Level, AP, and IB. The engineering guide does not say every applicant must submit a CSCA score. A different university’s 2026 rule is not this sentence.
Is the freshman scholarship automatic?
No. The guide says outstanding international freshmen who apply and are awarded it may receive full, half, or partial tuition for the first year, and that the award is exclusive of another scholarship of the same type. Later years are a separate application.
What should I re-read before I pay 800 RMB?
The degree sentence, the English-test line, the nationality document list, the tuition figure, and the clock on round one. If any of those has moved, the PDF you saved is not the offer. We can read the new link with you. We cannot file it.
