Sister School Exchanges
Sister school exchanges in China are a relationship plus a specific visit. The relationship does not sign Article 38 for you. DragonTrail has no list of partner schools and does not confirm a classroom.
Information checked 29 October 2026 (Asia/Shanghai).
No sister-school agreement or partner list is confirmed here. A short-term 团组 still needs the Chinese school and the foreign sending unit to sign. Minor-exit paperwork and a traveling guardian remain in Article 38 for primary and secondary groups. Request current fees and any funding terms directly from the provider; no amount is confirmed here.

| Who this is for | Schools with, or seeking, a partner for an exchange. The relationship is not the visa and not the Article 38 signature. |
|---|---|
| Clock | Short-term group study is no more than 180 days. A memorandum does not set this year’s dates. |
| Money | No DragonTrail exchange fee. Higher-education charges, if any, are the host’s RMB list. Confirm the applicable provincial requirements, school fees, and supervision arrangements with the receiving school. |
| Who decides | The two institutions that can sign, and a consulate for each traveler. DragonTrail is not a party to the memorandum. |
| Papers | This year’s agreement, guardian plan for minors, passports, and an invitation that still contains the Sweden note’s fields. |
| Outcome | A visit plan that can be refused. Not a reserved term and not a partner assigned by this site. |
| Easy to mix up | Treating an old memorandum as permission to travel, or using one country’s forms for both directions. |
| Worked example | Two principals check who may sign this year, name the guardian, and leave every off-campus stop marked unconfirmed. |
| What we do not do | DragonTrail does not keep a sister-school list, sign the agreement, or price the exchange. |
Sister School Is a Relationship, Not a Visa
A memorandum of understanding can explain why two schools talk. It is not a visa category and not this year’s acceptance of students. The Sweden note dated 2026/10/12 still describes F as exchanges, visits, and study tours, and it still wants an invitation with identity, purpose, dates, places, relationship, funds, and the inviter’s stamp and signature. “Sister school” can be the relationship line in that invitation. It does not replace the other fields, and DragonTrail cannot stamp the page.
Article 38 Still Wants a Signed Agreement
Before a Chinese school accepts international students for short-term study as a 团组, it signs with the 外方派遣单位. A friendship label does not skip that signature. Article 45 counts short-term as no more than 180 days, including the 180th day. If the visit is longer, you are outside the short-term sentence and need the rule that matches a longer stay. We will not stretch a memorandum into either permission.
Both Directions Need Their Own Papers
Students leaving China for your campus are under your country’s rules, which you must confirm with the relevant authority. Students entering China are under the pages cited here. Do not assume one packet works in both directions. For minors coming to a primary or secondary school, the sending unit completes its own country’s exit paperwork and sends a guardian. A student under 18 whose parents are not in China needs a formally entrusted guardian. Each direction can fail on its own papers.
Confirm the Partner School
No sister-school placement is confirmed here; contact the receiving school to check availability. Article 44 allows education authorities to restrict a school’s international enrollment after recruiting violations, which is a reminder that a past partnership can be paused by an authority. Ask the school that would actually host. Article 14’s RMB fee list applies when a higher-education school charges. A primary partner follows provincial requirements that the receiving school must confirm.
Minors Crossing Still Need the Guardian Line
Exchanges of children are where Article 38 is most concrete. The guardian has to be a person the sending unit sends, not a hope that the host will supervise. We print no ratio. Your two schools may set one in the agreement. That number is theirs. The 2021 work-study measures remain irrelevant to a class of children: they cover students at degree-teaching universities. Do not size a child’s day with the 8-hour or 16-hour caps.
A Memorandum Is Not This Year’s Visit
Renew the practical points every time: dates, who signs, who is guardian, where students sleep, and which visits are still unconfirmed. Article 26 and Article 29 limit political activities, military training, and religious gatherings on campus. A joint concert or a match is not confirmed until the host writes it. DragonTrail has no exchange fee and no partner to introduce. Sample weeks are examples. The status is unconfirmed.

These pages were read on 29 October 2026 (Asia/Shanghai). A fee, an hour cap, and an application window belong to the office named in the link. If a date has passed, or a line on a visa note looks incomplete, the page says so. None of this is a placement or a group visit DragonTrail can reserve, and none of it is legal advice.

Category lines for F, X1, X2, and Z, and the invitation fields for an F visa, are this note. The embassy decides the category. The Z reminder, as fetched, prints “000 days”; that is not a stay length used here. — retrieved 29 October 2026 (Asia/Shanghai)

FAQ
Does a sister-school memorandum replace Article 38?
No. A Chinese school that accepts a short-term group still signs an agreement with the foreign sending unit. A friendship label can explain the relationship. It is not the signature.
Do you keep a list of partner schools?
No. Confirm current requirements and availability directly with the relevant institution. A past partnership can also be restricted under Article 44. Ask the school that would host.
Do both directions use the same papers?
No. We only cite rules for entering Chinese schools. Confirm current requirements and availability directly with the relevant institution. Minors still need the sending unit’s exit paperwork and a guardian.
What should the invitation say?
The Sweden note asks for identity, purpose, dates, places, the link to the inviter, the source of funds, and the inviter’s name, phone, address, stamp, and signature. “Sister school” can be the link. It does not replace the rest.
Is there an exchange price?
No DragonTrail price. If a university charges enrolled students, Article 14 says it publishes items in RMB. Confirm the applicable local requirements with the receiving institution.
Can children rely on the host to supervise?
Article 38 says the sending unit sends a person who acts as guardian. We will not assume the host replaces that person, and we print no ratio.
Do work-study caps apply?
No. Those measures cover university students, not a sister-school class of children.
Is this year’s visit confirmed?
No. Dates, beds, and off-campus stops stay unconfirmed until the host writes yes and the required agreement is signed.
