Research Summer Schools
Research summer schools in China are not a catalog with a July price. The summer lab at 北京大学 takes no courses and awards no credit, and the global-health note dated 2025/08/14 says it will write only if a project fits.

The Lab Exempts Fees and Withholds Credit
北京大学’s program list says the International Summer Lab is for science and engineering research with professors. Courses will not be taken. Credits will not be earned. Application and tuition fees are exempted. That is a short research stay, not a taught summer school with a syllabus and a grade. The list does not print the weeks, the daily hours, or a housing plan. The phone is 86-10-62751230.
A Questionnaire Is Not Enrollment
The Institute for Global Health and Development note of 2025/08/14 invites students in China and abroad who care about global health. It lists literature review, data analysis, and policy research as skills you might practice. Eligibility is interest, communication, and a preference for English reading and writing. Summer School Is Not the Vacation Work Cap
A taught July program, if a school enrolls you, is study. The 16-hour vacation cap belongs to 勤工助学, not to a research lab and not to a credit course. Do not use that cap to describe a summer school day. If the summer school is longer than 180 days it has left the short-study definition in Article 45. Most July programs are shorter than that, but the admission notice is the document that counts, not a brochure headline.
X2 Is the Short-Study Paper, If It Is Study
The Sweden note says X2 is study for no more than 180 days and asks for an admission notice, plus form DQ if it applies. A summer school that is only a visit or a study tour is the F description and needs an invitation with dates, places, funds, and a stamp. A summer school that is really a job is Z. The lab page does not say which paper 北京大学 will issue. Ask the office before you assume X2.
No Dorm and No Meal Plan Were Printed
Neither the lab list nor the health-institute note prints a room rate, a meal plan, or a campus address for summer housing. Other 北京大学 pages mention housing questions at (86-10)-62752288 and say self-funded students may live on or off campus. Those lines were on the senior and research pages, not on a summer-school contract. Do not copy them onto the lab as if the lab had promised a bed.
No Cohort Date Means No Cohort
We cannot tell you to arrive on a Monday in July. The senior visiting window is March, for a fall year. The Law School’s summer months are not a research summer school: its spring window ends in June and its fall window starts in September, and it is a 90-day legal visit with no fee. None of those is a taught July school. If the host will not name the weeks and the supervisor, you do not have a summer school.

Is there a priced research summer school?
Not on the cited sources. The summer lab exempts application and tuition fees and awards no credit. The 2025/08/14 health note prints no fee. DragonTrail has no July price.
Does the global-health form accept me?

Will I earn credit in the summer lab?
The program list says courses will not be taken and credits will not be earned. If you need credit, this lab is the wrong page.
Which visa does a summer school use?
If it is study of no more than 180 days, the Sweden note describes X2 and an admission notice. A visit or study tour is F. A job is Z. The lab does not say which paper it issues. Ask the office.
Is the 16-hour vacation cap my class schedule?
No. That cap is for 勤工助学 in a vacation, for students the 2021 measures cover. A research lab and a taught course are not that cap.
Is housing included?
Not on the lab list and not on the health note. Other 北京大学 pages mention a housing phone. Do not treat that phone as a bed the lab has reserved.
When does the cohort start?
No July date was printed. The senior visiting window is 1–31 March for a fall year. If a host will not name the weeks, there is no cohort to join.
What should I ask before I pay for flights?
Ask who supervises you, whether credit is awarded, what the weeks are, where you sleep, and which visa paper the host will issue. The lab’s fee exemption is not an acceptance letter.
