Textiles and Traditional Crafts
Textiles and traditional crafts in China, as a cloth course in weaving, embroidery, or dyeing, were not on any school page opened on 29 October 2026. The practical studio we did open is ceramics at 乐天陶社, and clay is not cloth.
Information checked 29 October 2026 (Asia/Shanghai).
No textile school was opened, so we cannot confirm materials, dyes, who teaches, or what you may take home. We will not invent a village, a workshop price, or a claim that PWS teaches weaving. DragonTrail enrolls nobody.
At a Glance
| Who this is for | A reader looking for weaving, embroidery, or dyeing with a named host. The honest answer is that those hosts were not on the pages we opened. |
|---|---|
| Page not opened | No textile school, embroidery studio, or dyeing course page was opened on 29 October 2026. There is no cloth syllabus and no cloth fee to quote. |
| Not confirmed | We do not invent a village, a regional workshop, or a price for cloth. A blank cell stays blank. A story about a loom we never saw would be a false guide. |
| Clay, not cloth | PWS at 乐天陶社 in Jingdezhen is a ceramics residency and a ceramics workshop. It prints 青花. It does not teach weaving, and we will not pretend it does. |
| Residency figures | A PWS stay longer than two weeks is 3,300 RMB a week. A shorter stay is 3,800 RMB a week. The studio is self-led. Those numbers are clay, not textiles. |
| Workshop clock | PWS workshops are three hours, with no set schedule, and they include English translation. The page calls its prices estimates that change on 1 November. We read it on 29 October. |
| LTL’s list | LTL Beijing does not name textiles. Add-ons on that language page are pottery, calligraphy, cooking, tai chi, kung fu, Beijing opera, a tea house, badminton, and ping pong. |
| CET’s list | CET Shanghai’s electives, as we read them, cover cinema, history, the city, food, and literature. Cloth is not among them. The semester is not a dyeing course. |
| What we do not do | DragonTrail enrolls nobody and cannot confirm a textile teacher. What you may take home, if a real host exists, is that host’s rule, not ours. |
No Textile School Page Was Opened
Cloth, as a taught craft, would need a host page that names the fiber, the hours, and the person who teaches. No textile, embroidery, or dyeing school page was opened on 29 October 2026. The Chinese topics people sometimes attach to this interest, including 刺绣, were not backed by a prospectus we read. DragonTrail does not keep a hidden list of looms. We enroll nobody. A title on this cluster is a question about practical learning, not evidence that a workshop has agreed to take a student.
Inventing a village would be a specific kind of falsehood. We will not name a county, a minority workshop, or a family atelier, because no such page was opened and no such visit is confirmed. We will not print a cloth price, because no cloth price was printed. Readers sometimes expect a regional craft story to fill a gap. The gap is the point. Until a host publishes the course, the course is not something this page can describe, schedule, or charge.
- No embroidery, weaving, or dyeing prospectus was opened, so no cloth fee is quoted.
- A village or a regional workshop is not named, because none was confirmed.
Clay at Jingdezhen Is Not Cloth
Jingdezhen’s opened product is 乐天陶社, the PWS ceramic hub, and it works in clay. A residency longer than two weeks costs 3,300 RMB a week. Under two weeks the printed rate is 3,800 RMB a week. The studio is self-led. It is not a design degree, and it is not a textile degree. 青花 on that host’s pages is underglaze blue on porcelain. Blue on a pot is not indigo on yarn. We did not open a weaving loft inside that residency, and we will not describe the week as if the wheel were a loom.
Workshops at the same host are a second product. They last three hours, they do not follow a set schedule, and English translation is included. The workshop page says the figures are estimates because a new list takes effect on 1 November. The reading date was 29 October, one day before that change, so the October estimate is not a promise about November’s bill. Even the estimate is a ceramics estimate. It does not price thread, dye, or a finished textile you might hope to carry home. Using it for cloth would mislabel both the material and the invoice.
- PWS residency rates are weekly ceramics rates, not weaving tuition.
- Workshop estimates were due to change on 1 November, and we read them on 29 October.
What a Real Host Would Need to Confirm
A textile host, if one were booked, would need to confirm the materials you touch, the dyes if any dye is used, who teaches, how long the session lasts, what language is spoken, and what you may take home. We cannot confirm any of those points, because no textile host’s page was opened. Confirmation has to be the host’s own sentence, with the host’s name on it. A travel note that guesses at natural dyes or at a gift you can keep would be an invention. This page stops at the list of questions.
Take-home rules matter as much as the lesson. Some studios fire or finish work after you leave. Some sell the cloth and do not let visitors keep it. Some require you to bring fiber. None of those patterns is established here, and none should be assumed from other crafts. The ceramics residency’s rules about a pot are not a rule about a bolt of cloth. Until a textile host writes the rule, the honest line is that DragonTrail does not know what you may carry out of a room we have not seen.
- Materials, dyes, the teacher, and take-home rules are unconfirmed.
- A ceramics studio’s rules about pots do not transfer to cloth.
A Language Add-On List Does Not Name Cloth
LTL Beijing, read for textiles, is a language school. The activities it says can be added are pottery, calligraphy, cooking, tai chi, kung fu, Beijing opera, a tea house, badminton, and ping pong. Textiles are not on that list. Pottery on that list is not the PWS residency, and it is certainly not a weaving course. The sample week varies. A sample afternoon is not an embroidery lesson. We do not promote an unnamed extra into 染 or stitching because a reader hopes the school can arrange it.
CET’s Shanghai elective list, read the same way, names SH/FILM 370, SH/HIST 350, SH/URBN 353, SH/EAST 245, and SH/LITR 380. Those are cinema, Shanghai history, the city, food and identity, and literature today. Each is 3 credits, English-taught, and not offered every term. Food and identity is not a dyeing lab. The city course is not a textile survey. The host is 东华大学, and the semester is a credit term. Nothing on that list is a loom. An internship of 120 hours needs proof of enrollment and is not described as a textile placement.
- LTL does not name textiles, and its sample week is not an embroidery class.
- CET’s food and city electives are not dyeing or weaving courses.
Prices We Cannot Copy Across
There is no textile fee on the pages opened for this subject. CET’s semester is USD 19,690, split on the page into USD 15,752 tuition and USD 3,938 housing, with CET’s own estimates of airfare at USD 1,500 to 2,000, meals at USD 2,725, and personal expenses at USD 600. Those lines belong to the Shanghai term. They do not buy thread. PWS’s weekly rates belong to a self-led ceramics studio. Putting either number in a textiles column would tell a traveler the wrong product. Where the cloth fee should sit, the cell stays empty.
Dates travel with the product that printed them. CET’s fall arrival of 26 August 2026 had passed by 29 October 2026. Spring arrival is 17 February 2027, and the printed deadline of 1 November had not yet passed on the read date. CET says fees can change without notice. PWS’s workshop estimates change on 1 November. Neither calendar is a textile intake. The Shanghai workshop email at PWS differs from the Jingdezhen email. That fact keeps two ceramics inboxes apart. It does not create a cloth inbox. We still have no textile address to write to from these pages.
- CET’s USD 19,690 and PWS’s weekly RMB rates are not textile tuition.
- Two PWS inboxes are both ceramics contacts, not a weaving school.
Blanks Left on Purpose
Textiles and traditional crafts stay specific about what is missing. There is no named village. There is no price for a dyeing day. There is no teacher’s name. There is no certificate in embroidery. 乐天陶社’s 青花 practice is not cloth. LTL pottery and CET’s food elective are not fiber courses. Each blank follows from a page that was opened and did not say the thing, or from a page that was never opened. DragonTrail enrolls nobody in a craft school it cannot name.
If you ask for guidance, send the month, the city you can live in, and whether you want a single class or a longer stay. Say if the teacher must use English. Ask the host, once you have a real host, about materials, dyes, and what you may take home. Do not send fabric samples to DragonTrail for us to place. The links on this page open a program explainer and a stay plan. They do not reserve a loom, and they do not write to a studio we have not identified. Until that studio prints its own terms, textiles stay an unanswered question rather than a course.
- No certificate, village, or cloth price is stated, because none was printed.
- Ask a real host about materials and take-home rules before you travel for cloth.

FAQ
Did you open a textile or embroidery school?
No. No textile, embroidery, or dyeing school page was opened on 29 October 2026. There is no cloth syllabus, no teacher name, and no cloth fee on this page. DragonTrail will not invent a village workshop to fill that gap.
Does PWS in Jingdezhen teach weaving?
No. 乐天陶社 is a ceramics host. The residency is a self-led studio at 3,300 RMB a week after two weeks, or 3,800 RMB for a shorter stay. 青花 is porcelain decoration. Clay is not cloth, and the workshop hours are not a loom.
Can you confirm dyes, materials, or what I may take home?
No. Those are exactly the points a textile host would have to confirm: materials, dyes, who teaches, and what you may take home. We cannot confirm them, because no such host page was opened. A ceramics rule about pots does not answer the question.
Is LTL’s pottery add-on a textile class?
No. LTL’s add-on list names pottery, calligraphy, cooking, tai chi, kung fu, Beijing opera, a tea house, badminton, and ping pong. Textiles are not named. Pottery there is not a weaving course, and the sample week varies.
Does CET teach dyeing or embroidery?
Not on the elective list we read. The named electives are cinema, Shanghai history, the Chinese city, food and identity, and literature today, each 3 credits and not offered every term. Food and the city are not fiber courses. The host is 东华大学.
Why is there no textile price?
Because no textile page printed one. CET’s USD 19,690 semester and PWS’s weekly residency rates belong to those hosts’ own products. Copying either number into a cloth column would mislabel the invoice. The textile fee cell stays blank.
Are the November price changes about cloth?
No. PWS says its workshop estimates change on 1 November, and we read the page on 29 October. That note is about ceramics workshops. It is not a textile price list, and it does not create a cloth course dated in November.
What should I send if I still want to ask?
The city, the month, and whether you need one class or a longer stay. Say if teaching must be in English. Do not send fabric for us to place, and do not expect a loom to be reserved. DragonTrail enrolls nobody and has no textile host to write to from these pages.
