Ceramics and Pottery

Ceramics and pottery in China, on the pages we opened, are a weekly residency or a three-hour workshop at 乐天陶社, not a diploma. DragonTrail does not enroll you and does not charge a kiln fee.

Information checked 29 October 2026 (Asia/Shanghai).

DragonTrail has no ceramics inventory and no fee of its own. Figures below are what PWS printed, read on 29 October 2026 (Asia/Shanghai). The workshop page says its prices are estimates and that a new list takes effect on 1 November. LTL lists pottery as an add-on and does not print a craft price. A porcelain-mosaic headline on That’s Mandarin is news, not an open workshop.

At a Glance

Who this is forA person choosing a recreational workshop, a structured studio week, or a credential. PWS prints the first two as different products. It does not print a diploma on the pages we used. DragonTrail enrolls nobody.
Three productsA residency week, a three-hour workshop, and an LTL language week are different contracts. More than two weeks is 3,300 RMB a week. Under two weeks is 3,800 RMB. A visitor’s one-to-one workshop is about 2,000 RMB. Do not average them.
Host乐天陶社, also called PWS, founded in 1985 and formerly The Pottery Workshop. Jingdezhen is 139 East Xinchang Lu, 333001. Shanghai workshops use 1A, Lane 180, Shaanxi South Road, 200031. DragonTrail is not that studio.
CredentialNo certificate is printed on the residency or workshop pages we used. PWS’s claim of more than 1,000 artists from 40 countries since 2005 is their claim. It is not a licence you receive by paying a week.
HoursWorkshops are three hours and have no set schedule. The residency is priced by the week, with 24/7 studio access on the residency page. LTL’s 4 hours of Chinese are a language morning. Those are three clocks.
LanguagePWS workshops include English translation. The residency page names bilingual coordinators. LTL’s product is Chinese lessons, with pottery only as an add-on. Ask which sentence applies to the product you mean.
MoneyResidency: 3,300 RMB a week after two weeks, about 480 USD in their conversion, or 3,800 RMB for a shorter stay, about 560 USD in theirs. Workshop estimates, resident one-to-one about 1,000 RMB, visitor one-to-one about 2,000 RMB. A new workshop list takes effect 1 November.
OutputMost workshops include materials, tools, and firing or glazing. Named techniques include 青花, 浅浮雕, 补瓷, and 锔瓷. Raku is group only. A shared group is not assured unless you bring a friend. A fired pot is not a diploma.
What we do not doWe do not enroll you, hold a wheel, or confirm a kiln day. We do not repeat resident stories from the studio site. We do not treat That’s Mandarin’s mosaic headline as a seat.

Separate the Week From the Workshop

Ceramics and pottery at 乐天陶社 split into a residency week and a three-hour workshop. More than two weeks is 3,300 RMB a week. Under two weeks is 3,800 RMB a week. PWS converts those to about 480 USD and about 560 USD. Those conversions are theirs. Check the rate you will actually pay. The phone printed with the addresses is +86 798 844 0582. Mail printed as info@pws-hub.com is not the Shanghai workshop mailbox.

Ceramics and pottery workshops are a second invoice. They run three hours, with no set schedule. A resident’s one-to-one is about 1,000 RMB, shared about 600 RMB. A visitor’s one-to-one is about 2,000 RMB, shared about 1,000 RMB. The page says these prices are estimates because a new list takes effect on 1 November. We read that on 29 October 2026. Do not treat the October estimate as November’s bill. DragonTrail takes neither invoice.

  • A weekly residency fee and a three-hour workshop fee are different products.
  • Shanghai workshop mail is infosh@potteryworkshop.com.cn, not info@pws-hub.com.

What a Jingdezhen Week Includes

Ceramics and pottery residencies, on the page we used, include a semi-private studio, 24/7 access, lunch and dinner, a single or double room, bilingual coordinators, and train or airport pickup. That list is PWS’s list for the weekly fee. Extra firing and extra workshop hours are not described as already inside the 3,300 RMB. The Jingdezhen address is 139 East Xinchang Lu, Jingdezhen 333001. The Shanghai room is 1A, Lane 180, Shaanxi South Road, 200031.

Ceramics and pottery history lines on the same host are not a credential. PWS says it was founded in 1985 and was formerly The Pottery Workshop. It also states that since 2005 it has hosted more than 1,000 artists from 40 countries. That count is their claim. This page does not repeat resident stories from the studio site, and it does not turn the claim into a diploma you earn by staying a week.

  • Meals named for the residency are lunch and dinner. They are not a separate class fee.
  • More than 1,000 artists since 2005 is PWS’s sentence, not a licence.

Three-Hour Workshops and No Fixed Day

Ceramics and pottery workshops do not follow a set schedule. Each one is three hours. English translation is included. No previous knowledge is required. Materials, tools, and firing or glazing are included for most workshops. Techniques named include 青花, dry relief 浅浮雕, crack mending 补瓷, and curium 锔瓷. Raku is group only. A shared price applies only if you bring a friend, because a group may not form.

Ceramics and pottery at the recreational level means a visitor workshop: about 2,000 RMB for one-to-one, or about 1,000 RMB shared, as estimates on 29 October. Structured studio time is the residency week, or a resident’s own three-hour booking at about 1,000 RMB one-to-one or about 600 RMB shared. A professional credential is not printed. Paying for clay time does not award a title the page never named.

  • No set schedule means there is no calendar on this guide to copy.
  • A shared group is not assured. The page says you bring a friend if you want that rate.

Workshop Prices Are Estimates Until November

Ceramics and pottery workshop prices were marked as estimates on the day we read them. The page says a new list takes effect on 1 November. 29 October 2026 is before that date. A resident figure of about 1,000 RMB and a visitor figure of about 2,000 RMB can change with that list. The weekly residency figures, 3,300 RMB and 3,800 RMB, are what the residency page prints. Do not assume the estimate warning and the weekly fee are the same sentence.

Ceramics and pottery payments, if you make them, go to PWS, not to DragonTrail. We do not hold a wheel while you compare the October estimate with November’s list. Write to info@pws-hub.com for the residency contact the page prints, and to infosh@potteryworkshop.com.cn for Shanghai workshops. Using the wrong mailbox is a good way to miss the reply. We do not monitor either inbox.

  • Read the workshop page again on or after 1 November before you treat an estimate as a bill.
  • Their “about 480 USD” is a conversion of 3,300 RMB. Confirm the currency you will pay.

An Add-on and a News Line

Ceramics and pottery on LTL’s Beijing page are one add-on name, “pottery”, beside a tea house, Beijing opera, kung fu, tai chi, calligraphy, and Chinese cooking. LTL is a language school. The add-on is not a priced craft course. Group language starts at USD 387 a week, maximum 6. One-to-one starts at USD 774 a week. The address 建国路88号现代城SOHO B座 504 is not Jingdezhen. A sample week varies every week, and Friday says Taijiquan. That grid is not a PWS booking.

Ceramics and pottery are also the wrong reading of That’s Mandarin’s headline “Oct 29|Let's Make Porcelain Mosaic Art!”, posted on 23 October. There is no price and no seat count. It is not an open workshop. An earlier picnic is not a kiln day. The intensive group is 5 days of language, Monday to Friday, in a school that names Beijing, Shanghai, Chengdu, Suzhou, and Hangzhou. A news tile is not a residency at 乐天陶社.

  • LTL’s pottery add-on has no craft price. USD 387 is a language price.
  • A mosaic headline without a seat count is not a workshop you can join from this page.

Experience, a Stay, and No Diploma

Ceramics and pottery keep the three levels apart even when two of them have prices. Recreational experience: a visitor’s three-hour workshop, no previous knowledge required, English translation included, estimates only until the 1 November list. Structured training: a residency week with a studio, meals, a room, and coordinators, or a resident’s three-hour booking. Professional credential: not printed. Founded in 1985 is a history line. It is not a qualification with your name on it.

Ceramics and pottery guidance from DragonTrail does not reserve either product. Send the city you can live in, the month, and whether you want one workshop or a week. Say if you need English. The form does not enroll you. Do not send payment details to us. PWS confirms its own studio, its own room, and its own firing. A kiln outside that host is not arranged on this page.

  • Visitor workshop, residency week, and a diploma are three outputs. The third is not on the page.
  • DragonTrail enrolls nobody and does not hold a kiln day.

These pages were read on 29 October 2026 (Asia/Shanghai). A price, a sample week, and an application window belong to the host named in the link. If a date has passed, or a PDF was not opened, the page says so. None of this is a workshop DragonTrail can reserve, and none of it is a family visit or a field site we have confirmed.

FAQ

Is a Jingdezhen week the same as a three-hour workshop?

No. A stay longer than two weeks is 3,300 RMB a week, and a shorter stay is 3,800 RMB a week, on PWS’s residency page. A workshop is three hours, with no set schedule. Resident and visitor workshop prices are estimates on a different page. DragonTrail does not sell either product.

Does the weekly fee include meals and a room?

PWS says the residency includes a semi-private studio, 24-hour access, lunch and dinner, a single or double room, bilingual coordinators, and train or airport pickup. That sentence is theirs. Extra workshop hours are priced separately, and those workshop prices are estimates that change on 1 November.

Are the workshop prices final?

Not on the reading of 29 October 2026. The workshop page says the prices are estimates and that a new list takes effect on 1 November. A resident’s one-to-one is about 1,000 RMB and a visitor’s about 2,000 RMB for three hours. Shared rates are lower, and a shared group is not assured unless you bring a friend.

Do I need experience, and is English included?

The workshop page says no previous knowledge is required and that English translation is included. The residency page names bilingual coordinators. Those are PWS’s sentences for PWS’s products. LTL’s language week is a different host and does not become a pottery syllabus because pottery is on an add-on list.

Which email is for Shanghai workshops?

Shanghai workshop mail is infosh@potteryworkshop.com.cn. The other printed mail is info@pws-hub.com. The Shanghai address is 1A, Lane 180, Shaanxi South Road, 200031. Jingdezhen is 139 East Xinchang Lu, 333001. The phone printed with those addresses is +86 798 844 0582. DragonTrail does not read those inboxes.

Is the mosaic headline a pottery class?

No. That’s Mandarin posted “Oct 29|Let's Make Porcelain Mosaic Art!” on 23 October. There is no price and no seat count. It is not an open workshop. LTL’s “pottery” line is an unpriced add-on on a language page. Neither one is the PWS residency.

Will I receive a ceramics certificate?

The residency and workshop pages we used do not say so. PWS’s claim of more than 1,000 artists from 40 countries since 2005 is their claim, not a certificate with your name. Founded in 1985, formerly The Pottery Workshop, is a history line. A fired piece, where firing is included, is not a professional credential.

What should I send if I ask for guidance?

Send the city, the month, and whether you want one three-hour workshop or a residency week. Say if you need English. The note does not enroll you and does not hold a wheel. PWS, not DragonTrail, confirms the fee after 1 November’s workshop list and the room on a residency week.

Compare study routes, or tell us the skill, the city, and whether you need a single class, a studio week, or a credit-bearing term. Neither button enrolls you, reserves a kiln or a kitchen, or confirms a family or field visit.
