Camp Dates and Fees
Camp dates and fees in China are the organizer’s calendar and the organizer’s invoice, read line by line, not a DragonTrail price list. A from-price without a year, a format, and an inclusion list is not yet a fee you can compare.
Information checked 29 October 2026 (Asia/Shanghai).
DragonTrail does not sell camp weeks and does not set these prices. The figures below belong to Hutong School, NYU Shanghai, Princeton in Beijing, the BIT fee sheet, or Western Academy of Beijing’s school-year tuition. Retrieved 29 October 2026 (Asia/Shanghai).

How a Camp Fee Is Built
A camp fee is a stack, even when the brochure prints one number. The stack is usually taught time, a place to be during the afternoon, meals or the lack of them, a bed or a daily handover, local transport, an airport meeting, insurance, materials, and the letter someone may need for a visa. If any of those is missing from the sentence, it is probably extra or it is simply not provided. Parents get hurt when they compare a 4,250 RMB “from” week with an USD 8,500 university summer as if both bought the same days.
DragonTrail does not add a markup table because we are not the seller. When you Request Guidance, the useful work is to turn a school’s paragraph into those lines and to notice what is absent. Find a Suitable Program is where longer study costs sit in the wider map. It is still not a camp checkout.
The Figures, Labeled by Publisher
Hutong School’s Beijing page, which still says Chinese Camp 2025 in the body, says one week starts from 4,250 RMB per person. It lists full camp, homestay, day, half-day, and tailor-made above that sentence and does not say which of them the 4,250 RMB belongs to. The kids and teens page titled for 2026 describes full camp as hotel housing, three meals, and in-China transport including airport pickup, and does not print 4,250 RMB. A reseller site showed itemized CNY amounts for Hutong formats on the day we looked. Those reseller discounts are not repeated here, because the school’s own pages did not itemize them in the fetch.
NYU Shanghai’s own page is clearer and older-student: USD 8,500 for 29 May–1 August 2026, broken into USD 5,440 tuition, USD 600 administration, USD 250 books, and USD 2,210 estimated double housing. Airfare, daily meals, personal expenses, and immigration are excluded. Princeton in Beijing’s PDF: tuition USD 7,650 including a USD 500 non-refundable deposit, fees USD 1,350, direct total USD 9,000, illustrated grand total USD 12,345 once estimated airfare and personal costs are added. The BIT sheet: CNY 4,500 for each listed 北京 program, 8–29 July 2026, covering tuition, on-campus housing, materials, insurance, visits, and tours, excluding meals and airport transfers. 唐山 Tangshan on that sheet is CNY 4,300 for 13–20 July.
| Hutong Beijing “from” week | 4,250 RMB per person. Year and format not tied to the number. Not our price. |
|---|---|
| NYU Shanghai Summer 2026 | USD 8,500 program fee. Meals and airfare extra. University enrollment required. |
| Princeton in Beijing 2026 | USD 9,000 billed by the program. USD 12,345 illustrated cost of attendance. |
| BIT Beijing sheet | CNY 4,500 for 8–29 July 2026. Ages 18–45. Meals extra. Non-refundable if paid. |
| WAB 2026–27 year | From 148,000 RMB annual tuition. A school place, not a camp week. |
When the Same Organization Prints Two Prices
NYU Shanghai is the cleanest example of a clash you should not smooth over. One paragraph folds a housing estimate into dollars. A table below it prices nine-week rooms in yuan, and it says updated rates for Summer 2027 will be posted in April 2027. Both can be “official” and still confuse a family that wires the wrong one. Email shanghai.summer@nyu.edu, which is the contact printed on the page, and ask which number is the bill. Do not average them.
Hutong’s clash is about the year and the bed, not only the currency. Camp 2025 language sits on the Beijing URL. Camp 2026 language sits on the kids URL. Hotels and a youth hostel both appear on the 2026 page. The phone and the 东城区 address are on the Beijing page. Send one email that quotes the URL you are looking at and ask for a single PDF: dates with year, address of the bed, and the total.
What Is Usually Extra
International flights are extra on every page we read. NYU Shanghai says so in words. The Princeton sheet puts round-trip airfare in the indirect column at an estimate of USD 2,500, which is their illustration, not a ticket. BIT excludes airport transfers. Hutong’s 2026 full-camp copy includes airport pickup and transport inside China, which is more generous and still does not buy the flight from home. Visas are extra everywhere: the Princeton sheet estimates USD 315, and the Beijing visa guide tells you the fee depends on the consulate.
Meals flip by product. Hutong’s 2026 full-camp text includes breakfast, lunch, and dinner. NYU Shanghai leaves daily meals to the student. BIT excludes meals. Princeton includes a partial meal plan inside the fee and estimates another USD 150 out of pocket. A day camp that ends at lunch may include nothing but a snack. Ask the meal line for the format you are actually buying, and ask about allergies in the same breath. A fee that “includes Chinese food” is not a medical plan.
Deposits, Refunds, and a Group That Does Not Fill
A deposit is where families lose money quietly. Princeton’s sheet says the USD 7,650 tuition includes a USD 500 non-refundable deposit. BIT says that once the tuition is paid it is non-refundable, and that a program under 20 students is cancelled. Those two sentences can collide: a cancelled program and a non-refundable fee is a question to force into the open before you pay, not after. Hutong’s pages we fetched do not state a deposit percentage. Absence is not a friendly policy. Ask.
Deadlines are part of the fee. NYU Shanghai’s priority deadline is 10 February 2026 and the regular deadline is 1 March 2026, with decisions described as rolling. BIT’s on-campus deadline on the sheet is 15 May 2026. A camp that lets you “join any Monday” still has a visa clock. The Beijing guide suggests applying for the visa about a month ahead. A June start discussed in May can already be late for some passports.
Questions That Belong on the Invoice
Ask the organizer to label every line as included or excluded: taught minutes, activities, housing address, meals, airport meeting, local transport, insurance, materials, visa letter, and the refund if they cancel. Ask the age the child must be on the first day, not the age in the brochure photo. Ask for the year in digits. If the reply is “see the website,” reply with the URL and the sentence that contradicts the other URL.
None of those answers becomes a DragonTrail fee. We can sit with you while you read them. We cannot mark a week as ours, and we will not fill a blank winter or robotics price with a guess. The next step is Find a Suitable Program or Request Guidance, with the quote attached if you already have one.

FAQ
Does this page list DragonTrail camp fees?
No. There is no DragonTrail camp fee. 4,250 RMB, USD 8,500, USD 9,000, CNY 4,500, and the WAB annual tuitions are other organizations’ published figures, identified in the sentence that quotes them.
Why is a school’s annual tuition on a camp fee page?
So it is not mistaken for a camp. Western Academy of Beijing’s 2026–27 fees start at 148,000 RMB for a year. A two-week visit is not that product and should not be priced as if it were.
Which date should I trust for Hutong?
Trust a written offer that includes the year. The Beijing page’s June and July lines do not print a year and the surrounding copy says 2025. The kids page title says 2026 and does not, in our fetch, print those numbered starts.
Can I add the NYU housing table to the USD 8,500?
Do not invent the arithmetic. The page includes a USD 2,210 housing estimate inside USD 8,500 and also prints yuan room rates. Ask shanghai.summer@nyu.edu which one they will charge.
Are meals included in the BIT fee?
The sheet says no. CNY 4,500 excludes meals, airport transfers, and personal expenses. It includes on-campus accommodation, materials, insurance, and the listed visits. The sheet also says the fee is non-refundable once paid.
What is a fair deposit question?
Ask what is refundable if you cancel, if they cancel, or if the group is below their minimum. Princeton names a USD 500 non-refundable deposit inside tuition. BIT names a non-refundable fee and a 20-student floor. Get the same clarity from a youth camp before you transfer money.
Do reseller discounts count as the school price?
Not on this page. A listing site may show a lower “our price” next to a “price at school.” We cite the school or university page itself. If those two disagree, the invoice from the organizer wins.
What do I send DragonTrail if I already have a quote?
The PDF or email, the child’s age, and the city. We can help you see missing lines. We do not re-price it as a DragonTrail camp, and paying us is not paying the camp.
