Why a tombs-only day exists

Most first-time Beijing days pair a Wall section with a short tomb stop. That pairing already has its own page. This day is for the opposite guest: someone who has a Wall day elsewhere and still wants the Sacred Way to be a walk, not a checkbox.

Changping is a drive. We leave early enough that the stone animals are not a dusk silhouette. If your hotel is in the south of the city, we say so in the quote timing.

Sacred Way, then one chamber

The approach is the Ming statement: a lined walk, not a parking-lot door. We keep that walk intact. The chamber is the second act, chosen for what is open and for your stairs.

If the underground palace is the only thing you care about, use the half-day page. Do not pay for a full tombs day and then skip the Sacred Way.

Common mistakes at the Ming Tombs

Adding Mutianyu on this URL

That pairing already has a live page. We will move you there instead of stacking two products.

Doing every open tomb

The chambers repeat. One good tomb and the Sacred Way is the honest day.

Ignoring the stairs

Underground sections are not a flat garden. Tell us about knees before we lock Dingling.

Why book this Ming Tombs day privately

  • This is not a Wall day

Mutianyu-plus-tombs and Badaling-plus-tombs already exist. This page is for guests who want the tombs without a ridge.

  • One tomb is usually enough

Changling and Dingling are different visits. Stacking both plus the Sacred Way turns the stairs into the memory.

  • The Sacred Way is the walk

Stone animals and the approach matter as much as the chamber. We do not skip them to race an underground clock.

  • North-Beijing traffic is part of the quote

Changping is not a central hutong. Pickup time is planned, not a footnote.

  • Quote after the chamber is real

Which tomb is open, and whether the underground palace is on your list, changes the day and the quote.

How a DragonTrail day works

  1. Send your date and pace

Share travel date, hotel area, group size, walking comfort, and whether Ming Tombs is the whole window or part of a wider Beijing plan.

  2. We check what is actually open

Reservations, closed days, and timed-entry rules change. We confirm them for your date before we send a route and quote.

  3. Agree the shape, then the quote

You see a realistic sequence — not a promise to stack every landmark. If a second stop does not fit, we say so.

  4. Meet your guide or driver

Pickup at the hotel, apartment, or an agreed point near the first gate. No shopping-circuit detours.

  5. Adjust on the day

If a gallery, hall, or lane is closed or someone needs a rest, we shorten the far loop rather than rushing the last hour.
